sadietoo
So tonight is the end of an era...how do we all feel? For my part I feel quite sad...I loved the fact that for a long time he didn't care what people thought and got away with loads, and unlike Graham Norton didn't hide behind the whole camp thing as an excuse for being outrageous at times.. His broadcasting has been tame following the fiasco with Russell Brand, which personally imo was blown out of all proportion ( as soon as Max Clifford is involved a huge huge pinch of salt needs to be applied (preferably in a cirle around you!!). I will personally mourn his passing..I don't care how much he was paid, we needed people like him to stretch boundaries and bring a different vision... What now??? chickinboy
oooooh I was enjoying it but now Roxy Music have come on and I can only describe it as a horrendous noise. The old fella with the oboe and the sax really needs his mic turning off!!! SCREEEEEEEEECH!!
sadietoo
Couldn't agree more...how sad.. I loved Roxy Music in its day and that had none of the energy, verve, sexiness or tunefulness of the original..when it's time to retire guys please just go and leave us with our memories..... Olly
Sorry - no tears chez Olly, I have never enjoyed watching Jonathan Ross because it always seemed to be about him, rather than the interviewees.
Egluntyne
Am not fussed either.
ISCA
Hopefully the outrageous fees he was paid by the BBC can be re-invested into more Dr Who, Larks Rise to Candleford and Spooks
Cinnamon
Well,I adore Jonathan, love his show & am really sad that it is no more. I think he is a hugely talented man,as well as being a nice bloke with it. Hope he gets a new show soon

bluekarin
Well, I shed a tear at the end when he was saying his goodbyes, and looking very choked up as well I enjoyed watching his show. I'd usually moan and say I have no interest in such and such who's on, but then end up watching and be pleasantly surprised. I will try his new show, but I really don't like ITV so we shall see. He will be missed by us here. What drivel will we have on instead? But I agree about Roxy music. I was really looking forward to them, but they were a bit of a let down
Ain't Nobody Here
I used to like JR on the tv but went off him a while back - just too sycophantic for my liking (didn't like most of the "stars" he interviewed who had a hugely inflated opinion of themselves and their importance to mankind ). However, I loved him on Radio 2 and will miss that a lot .
abwsco
DH and I only watched it for Roxy Music. For me Bryan Ferry could have just stood there and I would still have been a very happy bunny We're hoping to see them on tour again.
Seagazer
I used to love watching his show and never used to miss one but lately I've just not been that bothered. He does make me laugh though and I do enjoy his radio show.
Lesley
DH and I only watched it for Roxy Music. For me Bryan Ferry could have just stood there and I would still have been a very happy bunny We're hoping to see them on tour again. I recorded it so that I only had to watch Roxy Music
patsylabrador
I think he represents our society wonderfully. Misogynist, celebrity obsessed, lacking style. He is modern Britain. I actually prefer to watch Newsnight and see our dear leaders screaming at each other while "Ooops, word censored!"ody listens.
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
He'll be back in a flash on ITV. His interviews over the past few years have reminded me a bit of Uncle Roger in Bridget Jones' Diary (the film), parping the metaphorical bunny tail on the back of his guests' costumes. Got a bit bored of the innuendo and 'sexiness' of everything in the end. Got a bit embarrassing and would have preferred to have seen him using his quick, smart mind to properly probe his interviewees (no, not in THAT sense!) sadietoo
thank you all for your replies.. I absolutely agree with you both Seagazer and ANH, I loved his radio programme more than the telly, but I was always surprised that on the tv show he could make a guest I cared nothing about (and often felt he didn't either) quite interesting at times.... I always felt he had his tongue very firmly in his cheek, and am so very intrigued that he has been found to be misogynistic.....that's certainly a facet of his character that passed me by it will be interesting to see how the itv show goes.... I doubt the BBC will use the money they save on his contract by making any more decent drama or anything else tbh...
