Well here are a couple of pics of our WIR. It still looks very out of place as the whole garden has been messed up with clearing space for it. We are hoping once we get some plants around it to soften the edges and the wood starts to weather down that it will all blend in nicely :)

That run is wonderful 8)8)

If you feel it's a bit dominant in the garden what about dyeing it to match your garden seat. I love the look of natural wood though (says she with a green run  ) As you say a few plants or rather shrubs will soften it. :D

The run is 24ft by 7ft with 2 main doors, an egg port hatch, half double doors at the back for cleaning out the trays and a small hatch bottom left at the back so they can get from the run into the border at the bottom. The reason we have a door at either end is so that IF we ever increase our flock size we can divide it easily into two and have the Eglu in one half and the Cube in the other and have a door to get into each half.

I do love the colour of our arbour, I think the colour is called Willow. We also have a summer house and shed that are painted Lavender and Sea Grass. Now I would love to paint the WIR to match, but OH says it would be a VERY arduous task and wonders if I have the patience to do it all. But it would look nice with some pretty clematis growing up it to not only soften the harshness of it but also to provide some shade in the Summer :D

Wow, That is beautiful, well done you.

Mine was only moved to its new place in April and looks like its been there forever.

One suggestion, make a path to the WIr before winter that way you save the grass,

I learnt the hard way and lost it all during the bad weather and had to returf the whole lot in spring.

We still have quite a bit to do. We need to put some trellis on the front and then get some nice climbers to soften it even more. We did have a look around B&Q the other evening but their selection of climbers is very limited at the moment. We were going to get a few lavenders and rosemary shrubs too as I remember someone on here saying the girls won't eat them, but we will see

You must be so pleased! It all looks lovely, and picturing lavender and rosemary flowering around 'Willow' (that's what I've started calling your run :D ) I think it would stunning!! My sis-in-law had trouble with her lavender, but then she has got 15 chickens! And also, they were very young plants, so stood no chance. If you could somehow protect your plants for a season or so, I'm sure they will stand a better chance. Oh, it is all such fun, isn't it. I'm loving every minute of it so far, apart from the bits where I (very tentatively) approach the OH with yet another idea
