The Harcombe Diet

Recommended Posts

I am also ready. The menu is planned. The whole family are going on this diet. I feel like Mrs Large in the Jill Murphy childrens book "A piece of cake".

All the Christmas goodies are packed away. The fridge is full of vegetables and OH and I are enjoying our last bottle of wine for a month.

Bring it on actually I am a bit fed up of eating rubbish!

Will let you know how we do. :anxious::D

I'm not ready yet :(

The books have arrived but I'm feeling rubbishy with a cold & not had chance to go out to shop so it may be Thursday before we can start on this.

Reading the books makes everything I know about food stand on its head- but it all makes full sense too :D

Just a quick question should the Natural Live Yoghurt be low fat? In the book it just talks about Natural Live Yoghurt but doesn't mention if it should be Low Fat.

Day 1 was okay, struggled at 3pm at work as was hungry and had nothing else to eat with me, so had to make do with a decaff coffee. Dinner was a sort of Haddock Kedgeree/Paella dish, very nice but I really want something desserty now.

:)

If you are having it with a carb meal, yes.

If you are having it with a fat meal, then it doesn't have to be.

If you are on phase 1 and are not at the combining stage, I'd go for the low fat version.

I find I prefer the low fat versions now.

Thanks for that Egluntyne, I'm loving M&S Greek style NLY :)

Well at the end of day four of stage one. It's quite tough cutting out so much nice stuff. But I can feel the differance and couldn't resist jumpping on the scales. Can I really have lost 7lbs in 4days.wow !!!

WOW indeed Riane!!! Well Done :clap::clap: , OH & I had lost 4lbs each after day 3, will wait until Saturday morning now to get the result after day 5.

We've really enjoyed the food, the Spicy Veg soup is delish especially if you blend it smooth. Tonight we had lamb steaks, mashed swede, butttered leeks and green beans - I've never eaten so well on a diet :D

Don't think OH & me haven't lost much this week either, offical weigh in tomorrow morning so will let you know then. One of the young girls at work is also doing it, and she weighed herself this morning and hasn't lost anything in her first week of phase 2. From reading the Harcombe forum it seems to be because your body has to get use to burning fat.

Zoe is on the forum on Sunday morning answering queries etc so might be worth asking her why you haven't lost anything this week.

Have to say as I feel so much better on this diet, like what I'm eating and don't feel hungry at all, 'm happy to carry on whatever the scales say tomorrow. :)
