Just had the radio on at work and my wedding 1st dance song came on, I haven't heard it for years. Just wondering what you all had to dance to?

Mine was Brian Adams Heaven.

Oh Dear!

Well considering we did it on a shoestring and 29 years later we are still happily married it seems to have lasted longer than most of my friends who had huge expensive flash weddings with all the trimmings and are now divorced!

we had 2 receptions, one in Tamworth for the official wedding - the second at home for the family members that "couldnt" come to the first (their choice - not mine )

I didn't have a first dance. We had a jazz band instead of a DJ (I have a 'thing' about wedding discos!) and hubby doesn't do dancing as he 'doesn't know the steps' (his words!). So I got on the dancefloor with my bridesmaid instead and had a jolly good boogie!

We had a ceilidh and just made a big group of people all get up at the same time and learn the dance together - far less embarrassing! I can't remember what the first piece of music was, but it was fun though!

I can remember most other things about the day, even though it was 24 years ago (and the marriage did not survive). I like the idea of a 'divorce' first dance though - think it would have to be good old Gloria Gaynor, 'I will survive' - cheesy but true!

Ours was Eric Clapton 'Wonderful Tonight'. Wasn't our first choice but we had it as our dance at our engagement and wedding. Not our choice - didn't have what we wanted and to be honest it's not exactly dancing music, it's 'Watermark' by Enya.

Should have been Harry Connick Junior's 'It had To Be you' as hubby always sung it when he was an ickle bit tipsy. Or some Neil Diamond, but then I'd have had to change my name to Caroline

We didn't have a first dance or song. Our wedding reception ended after the lunch coz my parents had a pub to run and had to get back !!! It was a lovely day though and I remember it well - 24 years ago. I can't believe it will be our SILVER anniversary next year. I am a very lucky girl. wouldn't change a thing.xx

My DD & her OH are trying to pick a song for their first dance at their wedding next year. It's not an easy thing! Front runner at the moment is one of my favourite songs Rose Of My Heart by Johnny Cash (my suggestion to them so I hope they go with it)

Got married in a Scottish castle by special license ( all arranged in 3 weeks) Only 6 guests all of whom had travelled from Bournemouth.No first song but they played the theme tune Harry's Game by Clannad. Reminded me of Robin Hood and was very fitting.

That was 19 years ago and still going strong ............wouldn't change a thing

We weren't planning on doing a first dance, so hadn't given it much thouht, but our mum's insisted. The only song the DJ suggested that we both knew and vaguely liked was Enrique Iglesias - Hero. Was very embarrassing we soon made other people get up and join us. If we'd thought about it we'd have had Lit - Perfect One and taken it with us as the DJ didn't have it.
