I flew to dublin last saturday from aberdeen and we went down the east coast and wow was it white and saw the 2 forth bridges, rail and road and the whiteness lasted well down and then was over in ireland as well - not seen it from above like that before and was stunning as we were above in sunshine and it looked so spectacular. Coming back we came near the western isles and saw the hills with icing sugar on them and some snow but not as bad as it was last week.

They say more is to fall on thursday and I have done my shopping so have so much in freezers it can snow now and I dont need to go out!

I had a horrid nose bleed this morning,

I seem to get them just before we get snow here, I guess is the change in temperature that does it.

I had one last year just before we had lots of snow.

We are due snow tonight, 50cms according to a weather forecast this morning.

 

Off to the shops soon as I need to stock up on chicken pellets just in case I can't get into town.

 

I have told my boss at work I will not be walking into work if the snow is bad and I can't drive in. The School boarders all went home for the holidays on Monday, they were the reason I went to work on foot for two weeks when we had the last lot of snow. Only non teaching staff still working there and I am sure they could take in a packed lunch.

We are supposed to be going to North Wales on Saturday, looking at the forecast it could be Monday at the earliest that we can get there.

Was like that here before but rain has stopped, wind died down and we have sun.

I was on stand by last night and got called for a 3 day Athens trip.

 

Due home tomorrow and frantically watching the weather sites for news of snow. I don't want to get stuck here.

 

Comparisons are being made of the 1927 blizzards on Christmas day. I don't remember them

Well it's raining here now. Just watched the BBC online forecast and we're due for the temp to drop dramatically tonight and for heavy snow on Saturday

Have been rostered an Edinburgh and back on Saturday ANH. Specially requested an early flight, so that I could be home in time for Mum's birthday gathering in the afternoon. When it all goes wrong, you want to meet for a coffee?
