Omletina Kyckling

Omletstock 4!! ** March 12th and 13th 2011.

Hi guys.

Me and OH had a really lovely time with you all. OH has already been making more felt flowers and has been on ebay to order some more material for felting "to keep her going" until she can get over to the wool shop near Omletinas. She is truly hooked!

I was really disapointed that the alpaca fleece didnt felt up well, but I've looked on the internet and it says that it should do, so I'm going to try again.

Thoroughly enjoyed it and already looking forward to the next one.

Done any spinning Omletina?

Oh you're the spinner! You clever thing! Is Karina your OH then? Really sorry I was confused.

Did we confuse you by both being women :lol::lol: I am indeed the spinner, I got the wheel for my 40th birthday. OH (Karina) is now the addicted felter. I think I shall soon be looking for "Felters anonymous" groups

Yes - sorry..how shallow am I? :roll::oops:

I've wanted to learn spinning for ages. Our knitting club that I attend was supposed to be getting a spinner to give a demo, but we lost her number. Do you really prick your finger like sleeping beauty? In other words is there really a needle?

I did a bit of felting a bit ago - but it didn't knit together very well in my bubble wrap. I might try bamboo mats next time. I've got some wool tops somewhere that my cat ran off with. Naughty Poppy!

What was Karina sewing?

Nooooo, no needles to prick yourself on!

Yeah, thats a really good question! What on earth was sleeping beauty doing with a sharp needle, when she was supposed to be concentrating on her spinning

Not shallow at all, its the norm, thats all :)

Karina was sewing up the side of a bit of felt, so she could pull it together to form a bunched effect in the middle of a flower. She is eagerly awaiting her ebay purchases.

Learning to spin takes a lot of persieverence (sp??) to start with, because it can be very frustrating, but once you get the feel of it, you're off! I found a spinner near me on the internet and just got in touch and asked if she would teach me! I paid £10 I think, for an hour and then I've taken it from there myself. You should do it. I love my spinning. Very relaxing and rewarding.

It's taken me until the day before mothers day :lol: , but I have just finished making my mothers and mother in laws gifts from the felt I made at the crafting weekend. I started 1 corsage but didn't finish it...probably due to hangover :oops::wink: .

It's amazing how quickly I have finished 1 and made another this morning with a clear head and non-trembling hands :lol::lol: .

I have to say Diane, that I am even proud of the back of them :D:D:D , now you have shown me how to finish them off properly. Thanks for showing me how to make such lovely pressies for them xxxxx

Oooh I'm so proud of my pupil :lol:

They are truly stunning.....just think what something like that would cost in the shops, and yours are one offs, you couldn't make two the same if you tried. I'm really impressed. Any time you want to do some felting, you know where I am.....what we need is a hot summer's day so we can felt outside, then have a few glasses of vino....shall I book you in?

That sounds like fun :D.

I gave my mum hers today as we visited that side of the family today. She was absolutely thrilled :D. Even my dad was really interested in it as his dad was in the Bradford wool trade and used to have to choose which bits of

Wool would get used for felting.

Small world
