Omletstock 4!! ** March 12th and 13th 2011.

Recommended Posts

I met up with Mostin and Laurmurf earlier this week and we chatted about another crafty weekend.....Laurmurf is off gallavanting in early February so we decided late February onwards (no excuses for her that way!!)

Sooooo who would like to come to a craft weekend either for the weekend or for the day? I have two spare beds, but there is a hotel up the road within walking distance.....

I've put a poll on so you can select which dates are good for you!

Poll now deleted as date established. - Egluntyne

Of course, this will all be weather dependent!:wink:

Me and OH would love to come for one day please. Not sure which day as I'm waiting to hear back whether Ive got a place on a training day I've already applied to.

I was chatting to a friend, who loves crafty stuff. She said omletstock sounded really brilliant. Would it be okay if she came along with us even though she isn't an omleteer? She loves chickens and looks after my field, chickens and alpacas when I go away, so she will love all the chicken talk as well. Please say if this isn't okay, I won't be offended.

OOh yes of course, anybody is welcome really, some of my neighbours may call in and I have some friends who are probably going to come along!! the more the merrier, although it'll be a tight squeeze in my ickle cottage!

Hi Omletina!

I was just wondering about fleece and felting. I often get stubby bits of alpaca fleece which I put in the bin because they aren't long enough to spin. Would it be worth me putting these bits separate and bringing them for felting? Or should I just bring some 'normal' alpaca fleece? I'm talking about chunks of fleece that are only about 1cm long?

Excuse my ignorance, I know nothing at all about felting.

Me and OH (and friend) will be coming on the Sunday if thats okay. :)

Bring a mix, bring your stubby bits, but also some 'normal' fleece, to be sure......the shorter bits might be too short on their own but would probably felt in with the other stuff!

Too far for travel with wee one, plus she's so wee and teething it might be annoying for people who don't currently have a symbiotic wee lass strapped to them round the clock! Can I do remote felting with you via skype?! :D

That said, I'm trying to talk OH into northern venturage over the summer, so if anyone wants to get the kettle on then and have baby snuggles, let me know... snow should be gone by then eh Omletina?

Ooh, I'm most happy to have the kettle on and coo from a distance at ickle one, but I'm not a babyhugger, like to keep my distance, but you'd be most welcome otherwise. Think the snow should be gone but then, but you can never be sure up here!!!

Is everybody who's coming wanting to try some felting? I'd thought that if people wanted, they could make some felt and then make up a corsage to wear on a coat etc. and perhaps even make two, if people wanted to make an extra one for mother's day which is early April.

If so, could you give me an idea as to what colour you might want to make your corsage? I can go to my wool place to get some wool. If people were around early Saturday morning we could go to the mill as it's only 5 minutes away, so people could get their own wool (would need to check their opening hours first though!)

I will probably decline the felted corsage thingy - but would love to browse the wool merchants goodies.

I should be around at that time and absolutely love looking for wool - I am a compulsive wool toucher/stroker. You may need to use force to get me back out!!

Does the mill just do wool or are there other lovely things too Diane?
