Do you have your groceries delivered?

Recommended Posts

I have done my first order for delivery tomorrow. :)

DH is complaining about how long it took and that he could of driven 7 miles to tesco and done the shopping in that time. But I've not done it before, it was all new and I had to get used to a different shop to tesco and choose other items. I usually wander round the shop with no list so I also had to plan and I'm sure if I do it again it will be a breeze.

:( I obviously do not have luck at the moment.

Just received a text that due to "operational reasons" OCADO will not be able to deliver to me today. They do offer apologies and a £25 voucher for the inconvenience (thats impressive) but I have no shopping - including stuff thats for dinner today - so am now going to have to manage to find time for the 14 mile round trip to Tesco. Anyone got a spare couple of hours :notalk:

Oh no, at least they have given you a voucher but that doesn't help with dinner.

I always get a text to say order is on the way and if there are any substitutions, my order came on Friday no text received but on Saturday I had a text about the order which I had already had!!! and a text saying they had placed my next order for Friday.

I wonder if they have some IT issues at the moment.

i gave up with tesco after they changed their websiteand the supermarket they deliveredout of. Ocado ok, but didnt always have the things i wanted. Have never been ableto get a slot at our sainsburys as its always fully booked so resorted to asda. NEVER had a problem with them and they are far cheaper and the food has been brilliant quality.

I have to say I think it is an IT issue as when I first looked at the delivery slots there were only a couple available for today. Then when I went to actually book the delivery the slots were mainly all there and didn't resemble anything like I'd seen earlier. Very odd. I am impressed with the £25 voucher and its clever enough to make me try again.

One of my new years resolutions (all broken already  ) was to 'Do Online Grocery Shop Every Week' to save time and money by not getting tempted to buy anything else in store.

I have not managed to do it yet. I used to use Ocado and found them excellent. The web site was easy to use and the delivery never let me down, so would have no problems reccomending them. I have logged on to the Te$co one but havent got any further than that. I cant see me doing it to be honest. I pass an Aldi on the way home from work so the bits I cant get at Aldi dont really add up to enough for a internet shop.

I use Tesco and have never had any problems. A few substitutions have always been better and price matched. However this year instead of doing a massive and rather random shop I am using a book to list what we need and sticking to the list. I plan to do smaller shops more often to aviod having to shop in person.

First order due Wednesday with 200 bonus points.

I do have local organic veg delivered weekly and milk deliveries thank goodness.

I even managed to revisit my Tesco order and add the chocolate I was trying not to buy!

I'm trying to buy mindfully in 2011, so not really doing big shops (too much stuff bought that never gets used :( )but I do think online is useful for those bulk (read heavy) items that you need regularly so intend to use cheapest once a month.

I buy what I need on a day to day basis from the Waitrose (local to work - not cheap but we are vegetarian so ok for us) or the local Farm shop (usually closed by the time I come home from work :( ) The main problem for me with online shopping is that I don't get any inspiration as to what to cook...whereas if you are in the shop you can see that the caulis, or aubergines or whatever, look really good and then start thinking about what you are going to make...I find that this is crucial to my cooking/shopping experience

Well I've just ordered my second Tesco delivery. After being shocked at the cost I decided to investigate as I had a bit of time on my hands as off feeling poorly :-(

I did the exact same shop on the adsa website and Tesco came out cheaper!!! Can you believe that? I was gob smacked as used to use Asda alot, but had drifted back to Tesco. Food has gone up so much in the last few months I think I'd got a little out of touch..... So will stick with Tesco for now, lets see if there are any mishaps today!
