abwsco
Can anyone tell me why I should have one and which one. Oh, and I don't want an iPhone as I want a phone that works as a phone:wink:
Olly
If all you want to do is to make phone calls and text, then you don't want one. On the other hand - if you want to read your emails, post on FaceBook while you're out, check directions, find the nearest ATM or supermarket in a strange town, check what time the next Tube is due, know what time sunrise/sunset is, keep a note of your expenses, write a 'To Do' list, read a book, learn musical intervals, book your Ocado order, sell on eBay, buy on Amazon, check exchange rates, or read the Omlet forum .... I resisted for ages but I love my iPhone (and yes, you're right - it's not that great as a phone!).
Sam
iPhones work brilliantly!! Cannot fault them - it's just one of them things that works, and do the things you want them to. Very quick and simple to use, can't recommend them enough
abwsco
Don't do FB but doing Ocado and reading the forums sound good. Was quite happy with my phone but I can get an upgrade. One DD has an iPhone and the other has a Blackberry so they're both pushing those-lol
Lewis
HTC Wildfire
chickric
Me and Chickvic both have HTC Wildfire, would have liked to have the desire but a bit out of our price range, check out this site http://www.omio.com/ to compare different tarrifs for different phones. We got ours for £20 with 300 texts or minutes, 3000 odd network to network mins and 500Mb internet data for £12 month. Haven't come close to using all our allowances yet
Lewis
I bought my Wildfire (on ebay) and got a Te$co sim-only contract. £10 a month for 500 minutes, unlimited texts + unlimited internet
tom123
Got a Blackberry Curve 8520 and rate it very highly Very easy to use and extremely good for keeping track of emails and using the internet. Really good mobile internet connection. Good wide screen for reading the forum and also not a touch screen so much easier to use (in my opinion!). I'm on O2 and it costs £20 a month for 100 minutes, unlimited texts & unlimited internet and email use.

quickcluck
HTC Desire HD here and lurve it! Was very sceptical at first, but haven't looked back!
Omletina Kyckling
I have a Nokia N8 and absolutely love it. It has the most fabulous camera, which was one of the main reasons I went for it....12megapixel Carl Zeiss lens and it has a fabulous satnav system on it. Shirl
I bought an Orange San Francisco. I wanted something that used Android so I wasn't tied to Apple. There are loads of free apps on the Android Market and in a short space of time I have become very attached to it.
Cinnamon
HTC Wildfire I disagree. You NEED the HTC Desire - it is a total beast of a smartfone Mine was free when I did a bit of contract juggling,as was my husbands. Daughters both have the slightly older HTC Magic. I would never look back from an HTC phone now - they run on Android/Google,so it synchs my calendar too
craftyhunnypie
Another thumbs up for HTC Desire. So many applications for free & some even the iphone can't do! I personally think it's better than the iphone. Just my opinion but yes you do NEED a HTC desire. Emma.x
Lavenders_Blue
My advice is.... don't get one! (Unless you are able to exercise self control). Hubby got an iphone before Christmas and I am quite frankly fed up up seeing him glued to the darned thing. It's at serious risk of getting flushed.... Emma.x They are indeed better than an iphone - more touch responsive, better set out & faster. They knock the Blackberry into short cotton socks too By far the bestest phone I have ever had,& I am a real tech fan

abwsco
No, but I can highly recommend samusung, their products are of very high quality. Yes, I currently have a Tocco Lite and it's been a great phone. I'm just bored with it
CatieB
I am due to get an upgrade on my phone next month and would like to get a smart phone. However, all you users, before I even decide which one I need to know how you go about learning how to use them to their potential when you don't have free access to a teenager Seriously my current phone has abilty to do far more than the calls, photos and texts I use it for. On the odd occassion I've tried the internet its painfully slow and I can only see part of the screen. Is there a novice guide out there or do I need to borrow a knowledgeable someone? Cinnamon
The BB on my Desire is linked to my computer via wifi (& 3S) and is super-quick...quicker than the home computer actually. I am self-taught on the smartfone. If you can access the internet on a computer, you can access it on a phone. Its all very simple. I am not a techno numpty, but neither am I a genius, but I have managed fine
abwsco
Well, I've just been playing around on eldest DD's Blackberry and found it really easy to do what I wanted to so I can see me going for one of those. Particularly as O2 have it in purple! Bonus is I won't have to pay for a new phone or lose the allowances I've currently got.
SarahJo
I got an i4 apple for christmas - has been fab, especially as I have just had an operation and am bed bound at the moment. Can come on the forum and check e-mails - totally wireless and also free on btopenzone, which picks up just about everywhere - even when walking the dog
abwsco
I got my purple blackberry this morning. Also got £50 of M & S vouchers on the way to me Managed to set up the internet access myself but waited for DD to sort out my email
