Vivihen
At an agricultural show last summer I bought some fleece dyed with 'Kool Aid' which seemed a bizarre idea at the time. My daughter bought some sachets from an internet site and yesterday we experimented dyeing silk, wool and nylon. The results were quite pleasing. I don't think that I will be giving up my acid dyes just yet, but if anyone would like to try dyeing with their children this would be an ideal method to start with as it is non-toxic and you don't need any special equipment. ..lay a little egg for me
I'm sure you can get in the UK. There was loads of it at the wool show (Wool Fest? Wool World? can't remember the name of the show) that I went to in Wales last year. I'm sure you could get it online OK. It is rather worrying that it is meant to be used as a drink for children...what do their insides look like afterwards I wonder?!

Chook n Boo Mum
I was told to use Panda Pops to dye wool, by a lady demonstrating spinning at a country fair....apparently the colours are lovely...is this similar? Sha x

Omletina Kyckling
I was at Woolfest last year in the Lake District and they were certainly selling it there. You can buy it on Ebay, some sellers in the UK, others in the USA. I've not tried it myself, I bought an acid dye kit specifically for wool and silk and have been experimenting with that. rachelk
I bought some online last year and took it to my daughters primary school knitting club. It was really fun, the children loved doing it! It also had the added bonus of smelling rather yummy too, I'm sure that there is nothing artificial in it at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Saronne
I used to drink it as a child (I grew up in the States). There used to be sachets of unsweetened (add your own sugar) and pre-sweetened. I'm guessing you'll need the unsweetened stuff! Saronne x
craftyhunnypie
Suppose it's a bit like that rise & shine orange stuff I drank as a child? Blimey that would colour your stomach! :shock Emma.x
rachelk
I've just been on a hunt for some crochet hooks and in he depths of the cupboard have found the remaining kool aid sachets I had from the school. I'm not likely to use them again so let me know if you fancy giving it a try and I will post you some.

rachelk
The kids were all KS2, so 7ish upwards. We dyed the wool one week, and they knitted with it for the next couple. Noone actually managed to knit a finished article but they seemed to enjoy it!! PM me your address if you would like some and will post some out to you.
