Popcorn
Now. Has this been discussed already and I've somehow missed it? I've just read the front page of the Omlet website about the Eglu being short-listed for the Turner Prize...... It IS a joke isn't it? Sheilaz
Yes, just a joke. But what a work of art.
Popcorn
I'm not with it am I Sheila... Just found this quote from James.... James Tuthill, 28, one of the designers, said: “We invented it while we were all art students. We have won an award for environmental design and another for use of plastics but we missed a trick by not putting it in for the Turner prize. A dirty chickenhouse could have won instead of Tracey Emin’s dirty bed." Not a bad idea really. Complete with a couple of chain smoking chickens we'd have half a chance of winning. Egluntyne
If a box of fog can be presented as art, then I'm sure an Eglu can too.......Did someone mention the Emperor's New Clothes earlier?

craftyhunnypie
oh crikey - at first I thought someone typed box of Frogs! As they are my worst fear, hubby dear - said to type bucket of frogs into google images to try & get over my fear. I have got to knock it on the head for when I get my cube, as the original Mk2 is going in the frog area of our garden, with bantams in eventually! I have to say, I couldn't even look at my computer screen with all those revolting images on. I went cold & goose bumpy and felt funny - all because of frogs! Stupid aren't I???? Thank god , it was a box of fog!!!!!! Phew! Emma.x
Sheilaz
....If a box of fog can be presented as art,.... My sister went to the (Antony Gormley) exhibition yesterday, and said it was all superb, except she didn't like the fog room; some people didn't like the sensation of not seeing, and losing/bumoping into people, one child wouldn't come out & the parent was having trouble, and my sister felt ill because of the humidity. But, she really enjoyed the rest. However, the Turner prize always does seem King's new clothes to me. Went to the new hanging of Impressionist paintings at the Nat.Gall. recently. Now, that's what I call art. It's a (free) breathtaking exhibition, even though many are familiar, they've been so well presented.
craftyhunnypie
I remember going in a museum in Canada and me & my big mouth said ' huh call that art'. The museum guard man told me off and said just look again at the picture and stare at where the red meets the blue ( the horizon if you like). after about 1 minute a flash of green florescent came out from the picture at where the 2 colours met. I thought it was fabulous! A real optical illusion. I used to love those magic eye pictures! Emma.x
craftyhunnypie
The inuit (eskimo) art & exhibition was amazing too. Very talented people / artists they are. I wouldn't be able to paint in all that cold would you? Emma.x

craftyhunnypie
I like pictures that have stuff hidden in them. Hubby has a great one that you have to find 9 faces in. But I just don't know how to upload an image on here. What to type etc? Emma.x

AnnieP
I love the writing with it! Normal people find 4 or 5 of them If you find 8 of them you have a extraordinary sense of observation If you find 9 of them you have a sense of observation above of the average. If you find 10 of them, you are very observer. If you find 11 of them, you are extremely observer. I think I'll stop at 8 then! Great picture. Weird though..... Wouldn't want it on my wall, I think it would give me bad dreams.....
