Lesley
will you take some pics of your easter sunday spread Lesley, so we can see your creations in action? Erm..... I'll try - I'm planning to set up tables in the conservatory and as it's not going to be easy to cover all these stands then we'll put the food out all in one go at the last minute..........I'll be fighting off the hungry hordes I forgot to mention candlesticks - some of the Youtube ones used them. MummyHen
Lesley - thanks for sharing this lovely idea. I have spent more even more money on the recommendations of fellow omleteers - don't tell OH. Can't wait to try this so much cheaper and nicer to make your own than to just buy.
Charlottechicken
Wow, absolutely stunning, Lesley! I think I may have to get a set of fixings and have a go Wish my charity shops had nice plates like those though Did you put tape over where you wanted to drill, or just drill straight on to the plate? Guest
claire, try asking for plates on freecycle. Ask for plain ones then maybe you can decorate them yourself?
Lesley
I've got some spare plares Claire, if we should meet up sometime...... We just drilled them with the drill on a slow speed and they were fine.....I was going to use some masking tape but my son just started drilling them. I was actually looking for a mix and match of chintzy roses so they're nothing like I was planning

rachelk
They are lovely. I've made these before, I used charity shop sherry glasses stuck on with very strong glue.
Lesley
I made a few more - I've had to hide the glue now The crackleglaze bowl I've had for ages but it was an odd shape, it looks much better glued onto the upturned crackleglaze candle holder...... The last one..... Lauren made these two - the black and mushroom coloured one was for her Mum...... Ready for the off.... Sorry - a few savouries missing My sister says she's never making mini sandwiches again Edited April 25, 2011 by Guest

Guest
oooooooooooooooooooo and a proper simnel cake too!!!!! you must have worked so hard to make all that!
Lesley
My sister made the Simnel cake and sandwiches, OH made the pork pie and son-in-law made little goats cheese and caramelised onion tartlets so I only had to make the pastries. We usually all 'make a plate' when we're all together.
