Are you planning on raising your eglu up? I did and it gives much more space (and saves your back when collecting eggs/cleaning out!)

yes ANH the eglu is getting raised off the ground this weekend it will also provide a shelter for them till i get a roof on which is on my easter program list

bay animal housing made the panels and my brother and i erected it the size is 6ftx9ftx6ft with kick boards well pleased

May I ask what you are going to use to raise your eglu. I want to put mine on a platform when I move it into the seperate section of the WIR to introduce my ex batts to the girls.

all i am going to do is build a small table out of my old fence and build it the same height as the old eglu run so they can walk underneath it if you want to know where i got the sign from i am going to post a thread on the chicken section

Me too - lovely to see things in gardens.

 

You know the mesh that can be seen in your 1st picture. I guess inside you have just covered it with the paving / woodchip. What did you do with the outside overlap ?

the wire mesh covers the full floor of the run even though half of it is slabbed the outside skirt part can be pinned down with tent pegs or you can buy garden fabric staples which cost about a fiver for a bag of 20 from wickes or B&Q i have not bothered to cover it as the grass will grow through it hope this helps

it most definitely WILL!! when we swopped from 2 eglus to a cube, my 2 eglu runs were absolutely rooted to the ground, it took AGES to be able to move them. a lot of brute force was involved
