quickcluck
Ok, you all knowing Omlet guys, I need help big time..... I've had a friend chook sitting However apart from eating me out of house and home she has put something strange in the sink!!! I have 2 sinks in the the kitchen an old fashioned Butler sink, and a white moulded one. She's put something in the moulded one and it's stained!!! I've had it soaking in bleach and cilit bang, but no good..... Soooooooooo what's stronger than these, that will help to get rid of it???? It looks like she's left baking sheets in there, and they look like rust marks! Am trying not to be as she's looked after the girls brilliantly! Ain't Nobody Here
I don't have a Butler sink but I use a little sponge thing which works wonders on stains in white sinks. I haven't got one at the moment so can't tell you what it's called but you'd get it in any supermarket. They're about the size of those sponges with the green scourer bit on the top, pure white with slight curves at each end. Hopefully someone else will know what I'm wittering on about and tell you what they're called .
bigmommasally
I've just got a butler sink in my new kitchen as I thought it would be harder wearing maybe that was a bad move. I would try white vinegar first, or bicarbonate of soda and if they don't work try barkeepers friend or atonish paste. Hope it comes out, I would be pretty upset too
Cinnamon
Its the moulded one that has stained, not the Butler sink, isn't it? I would ask her what it was,so you know what you are dealing with, then maybe contact a sink manufacturer to ask their advice
Reikiranf
I've managed to get rust stains out of things that bleach hasn't touched with lemon or lime juice, squeeze a bit of juice over the stain & leave it to soak for a few hours or overnight, and half a lemon or lime with bicarb or salt on it makes a good scourer
quickcluck
She says baking tray, so looks like rust.... how long she left it in for i've no idea!!! Will try bicarb and lemon juice as I have both of those at home When she's here this weekend I'm banning her from that sink!!! Thanks for the advice guys... Sally my Butler sink does get grubby, you are right, but bleach or cilit bang tends to do the trick!
The Dogmother
I find that Barkeeper's Friend gets most stains of anything.
Cinnamon
The very, very best thing for ceramic Butler sinks is a wonderful product called Shiny Sinks. I never use anything else now, although I doubt it will help with your moulded one. is it a 'grainy' textured sort of sink - in which case something a little more abrasive like Jif may be worth a go? Margaret
Try kitchen power, I love the stuff and the Bath one, expensive but i swear by it. Good luck with the scrubbing if not. Must admit would be really peeved if it was my sink though.
beach chick
I swear by Barkeepers Friend, thought the Shiny Sinks stuff was rubbish in comparison!
Redwing
Maybe fill the sink with very hot water and chuck in one of those toilet stain removing tablets that you have to leave for a while
Charlottechicken
I got rust marks off a beautiful second hand piece of Spode, with Astonish paste.

chickencam
I must remember that and get some in We use Astonish paste for a lot of things and find it really good but it is slightly abrasive, great on Le-Crueset type pans.
JillM
If you ever need a very mild abrasive (polishing brass etc) try cheap toothpaste
