Housebound and feeling sorry for myself - please cheer me up

Recommended Posts

After completing the London Marathon without so much as a blister, yesterday I managed to tear my calf muscle doing PE with my Year 2 class! Serves me right for not wearing my trainers and for not realising that I am far too old to be chasing around without warming up first.

Got to go back to the hospital for physio on Tuesday - thank goodness it's half term - hope it gets better soon. In the meantime I've got to sit here all day with my leg on a bag of frozen veg. Bored with daytime TV - anyone got any funny stories to cheer me up? :( :( :(

Thanks

Ouch sounds painful :( At least the frozen veg should be cooked by tea time

I'm at home doing work (well, I was, honest :liar: ) - I started at 6.30am and have just realised it is 1pm, I'm starving and I'm still in my PJs!

No funny stories I'm afraid unless someone is about to knock on the door to be greeted by me in pyjama bottoms, oversized white t-shirt and everything else hanging loose :vom: (more of a nightmare than a funny story  )

Hope you feel more cheery soon xx

Our chooks try to come into the house at every opportunity, slipping & sliding on the laminate floor. One made it half-way up the stairs yesterday... it was bed time after alll...

Hope you are feeling better, & that it is a sunny half-term so you can enjoy some sun on your bones while you are resting your poorly calf.

As i write we have discovered a new use for our girl Buzz- rice hoover-upper!

3yo has splilled his rice on the floor, so we have brought chook inside & she is merrily eating up all the mess!!!!!! :D:D:D:D

She has never had rice before, & can't get it down quick enough.

Great use of chicken Jules - they are nearly as effective as dogs at clearing up spills aren't they?

Hope you are up and about again soon! 8)

Thanks for all the kind wishes!

Lesley's right, Richard is doing his best to keep me amused and I'm working hard on resting my leg and eating chocolate!

He took me to Wales over the weekend which was lovely - well, apart from the times he forgot I needed help to get out of the car....hobble along the road.....crawl up/down stairs etc etc!

Ooooh! I well remember all that HP - when my leg was till in a full length plaster cast, Carl managed to drive off one day, leaving my crutches leaning against the side of the car

We arrived at a restaurant for a family get-together and I had to lean on Carl and my Dad all the way to our table on the far side

......... and Carl used to help me off the back seat of the car so fast sometimes (in the middle of town) that my skirt used to end up around my neck :roll:

....and he'd help me into the shower and sit me on a plastic chair borrowed from the garden........... but forget to come back for me

...... but, I couldn't have managed without him, bless him

Glad to hear you're doing well - go easy on the chocolate or you too could end up with an extra 3 stone to lose!:oops:
