Breaking up a sofa

Recommended Posts

some sofas have to be upended with the casters removed then 'folded' through the door seat faceing the door jamb with the back support going through first in a twisting motion. if that fails then a window has to be taken out

has for braking one up that depends on weather you are s"Ooops, word censored!"ing it or not

Well I pulled the material off the back and then got bored so thought I'd try and get it out through the doors. The last time anyone tried was 2 years ago - my son wanted it for his flat. 4 18 year olds and one of their dads couldn't manage to get it out with the casters and the doors off the hinges. I did it in about 10 mins on my own, I just put it on its side and pushed till it went through, did it into the conservatory and then through the kitchen and out the front door - to say I'm chuffed with myself is an understatement

When we first moved in here (very small cottage at the time), we couldn't get our double divan bed up the stairs & ended up having to take the staircase out,& making do with a step ladder for 6 months

Well done - it is a great feeling of achievement when you do something against the odds, isn't it? 8)

Phil took an old sofa to the tip and dumped it..... Then couldn't get his new sofa in his house (before we lived together). He ended up buying a futon which is now our spare bed in our guest room.

He moved in with me shortly after that.... I think the lack of a sofa was a driving factor

Whenever one of us is being hasty, it's known as a "taking the sofa to the tip" moment
