pips_pekins
Months ago I offered to get a couple of tickets for DS and a mate for Reading. Mate never paid for ticket and you've guessed it, can't go. DS found this out a few weeks ago but did nothing about it until a few days ago Surprise, surprise, no takers. I would go myself, (I do like a good festival), but my back is so bad at the moment that I am wary of spending 4 nights in a tent especially if it is damp. I am sure that girls are more organised and would have had it sorted... If anyone is going to Reading or Leeds, have a great time. I thought it looked a good lineup. Chucky Mama
I'd try flogging it on eBay. If you sold it this evening it would be there Special Delivery on Friday morning.
Cinnamon
I like the line up too,but I don't do Festival 'facilities' Get your son to mention it on his Facebook profile status,as there might be someone interested in his group of friends. pips_pekins
Dont talk to me about boys - I am anti teenage boy at present - its the attitude - hacks me off. MY DS is actually a really nice lad as are his friends but he is part teen part goldfish when it comes to using his brain. The other day my mother rang when I was out. She asked him to tell me that his granddad was in hospital after a suspected heart attack. Message? What message :-S

Chucky Mama
I have to say that I have 2 teenage boys (&1 teenage girl) and they are lovely My 17 year old dropped his sister off at a friends and then took his little brother out to the cinema and bought him pizza Ask me again in a week or so and I might have gone off them all though
The Dogmother
I think it's some and some; I know some lovely teenage boys, some who are nightmares. Teenage girls can be just as bad.... or good. At the moment, my teenage girl swings between being an angel or a stroppy madam
Space Chick
Show me any hormonal human being and you can have a nightmare or an angel on your hand.... Not just reserved for teenagers
snowberry
I leave pen & post it notes by the phone but can Eldest remember to take down a phone call message? No! Not when I had a message about a job interview (the caller knew that she was speaking to a Teenager so spoke veeeery slooooowly), when my mum had a suspected stroke (turned out to be a brain tumour); & has obviously missed the phone call about us winning the Lottery
Ain't Nobody Here
And I thought it was just my boys who were incapable of taking a message .
chickencam
All that my DS (15) says on the phone is Uh, except when he was on the coach home from hathrow after his recent trip to Iceland, then I couldn't shut him up My DS is lovely most of the time but deliberately bad at doing anything useful He did help me stack a winter's worth of logs today though, started off grumpy, but once his little sister turned up for him to boss around he had a great time. Chook n Boo Mum
My Eldest has worked out that doing everything badly is a Cunning Plan to get out of doing it ever again... My teenage son's father has a gold medal in that one DD (11) will ring me on my mobile to tell me of any messages she's taken................DS (14) will have a full, coherent conversation with the caller & omit to tell me anything..............eventually irate husband/mother/friend/dentist will call back & find out I've missed a call again He does let my chooks & hounds out though when he's home, saving me a trek back at lunchtime on work days, so I can't complain really............can I? squiffs
My OH is 21 in a few months, and forget taking a phone message, he out and out ignores the phone entirely! I think boys are teenagers until their 40s

squiffs
Mine's 60 in December..there really is no hope for the boy I've learned to accept this I think, if I acclimatise myself to it now, I won't be disappointed later on in life
sage
My Hubby now put the phone on speaker if I'm in the room so I can hear whats happening. I got fed up with him talking to his family, I would ask if they are all Ok and anything I need to know. Always got the " No, they are all fine" only to find them all stood on our doorstep the following weekend, they had arranged to visit for the day Sage
patsylabrador
I love my three boys to bits and I love my daughter to bits and I think they are equally awful and good at stuff, its just the kind of stuff that's different. I was very lucky and didn't have 'attitude' from any of them as teens, although DD would be very quiet at times, something I often wished for with the boys. One joined the army at 16 and he did get in trouble with sgts a few times, but never for the same thing twice!
Mercedes55
My son is now 33 and is still kinda hopeless when it comes to relaying messages. I have to ask my daughter in law all the time if I want to find out what is going on as he forgets everything. I remember a few years ago when he got some Oasis tickets and a few of his friends dropped out and he left it so late to try and sell the tickets that he ended up being out of pocket. It must be a male thing I'm sure
Alis girls
Mine is nice when he wants something. He has changed recently from fairly ok to nasty at times and as only female in house I bare the brunt of it. His mates who I used to like have turned him into a materialistic money orientated individual. He is langusihing on my sofa with god knows how many mates discussing GCSEs and they are only in year 10! Their brains appear to have migrated into their underpants
Ziggy
DH is in his 40's, and doesn't relay messages either... the first thing I usually hear about a message is when my mobile gets an sms from my mum saying 'still waiting for you to call me back', and I look at DH blankly and ask 'did my mother call??' and he goes 'oh yes, a few hours ago...'... Sigh... Not sure if DDs will be any more helpful when it comes to phone... we tend to leave the answer machine on anyway, so they don't have to pick up and take messages, I just pick up the messages from the machine when I get back... much more reliable!!
