Cinnamon
I know - another week, another courier rant! I have just sat here in my office, between Scrabble moves, watching in amazement. A courier van pulled up,the driver got out, opened the back doors, hopped into the van & threw a large, light box out onto the road. He then picked up a smaller box,& jumped down from the van, & proceeded to carry the small box while KICKING the large box up my driveway,to my front door. And in the large light box? 4 plastic storage boxes & all my daughters uni glass & china ware I marked the box as damaged ('do what you want love',from the driver),phoned the courier company (who were amazed) & the shop I bought it all from,as one box & all the china is smashed to bits Unbelievable. pips_pekins
I have never had any problems with deliveries being damaged but would be hopping mad (putting it mildly) if I knew my goods were being treated like this. All her uni stuff as well. What a shame as I bet she was excited about it arriving. What has the courier company said about his attitude? Totally disgusting. Bramble
I watched my mum's postman "delivering" the free longlife lightbulbs that Npower insisted on sending everybody a while ago. He stood on the pavement outside each house and literally threw the lightbulbs across the drive towards the front door ... Had I not seen him do it, we would not have known the bulbs had been "delivered" and would probably not have found them for days where they had landed. Needless to say they were all broken. I know they were "free", Mum hadn't asked for them and they wouln't have fitted her lights anyway, but not the point, Npower (for whom I usually have no time whatsoever) had paid Royal Mail to deliver them, presumably in one piece ... The last box I received from Omlet was in a real mess by the time it reached me, with needless to say, bits missing from the order ... Cinnamon
Well, they were quite good & the company I bought the stuff from is contacting them too. The couriers are putting my complaint to the area manager,as they know which driver it was (they took my details) Problem is,I not only have another delivery due, which may be the same couriers, but the replacements due too...........and the driver was a big, scary, mean looking chap
UKMARCH
I'd be cross too. I usually get a warning from one of my dogs if a courier is outside. Today though we were all having a lay in before school starts tomorrow and the courier arrived before 9am and I didn't have enough time to put on a dressing gown and open the door so I will have to wait in tomorrow and whats the odds on it arriving after 6pm
clootie
Unbelievable behaviour - what with this and the supermarket stories, I could do with a "restore my faith" story very soon!
pips_pekins
Unbelievable behaviour - what with this and the supermarket stories, I could do with a "restore my faith" story very soon! Well, I have one! A couple of years ago I had an operation and was off work for weeks. During this time we had a few heavier things delivered which I couldn't carry and I couldn't bend to move things/pick things up. Our postman was so considerate. When he knew I couldn't come to the door he would ask next door to take anything that wouldn't fit through. Once I was able to make it to the door he always offered to come in and put things out the way for OH to see to. I was so grateful for this and the fact that he thought to do it rather than have to be asked was lovely. Hope that goes some way to help restore your faith. clootie
Lovely story but I need a few more to make up for the horrors I've read on this forum today!
UKMARCH
My courier is also a good one as he has come back after doing his round to check if I'm in and it was an Omlet delivery so I'm really pleased and don't have to wait in tomorrow. It was a run for my classic so it was in a big box so maybe he needed the room but either way its a result!
WitchHazel
Sarah, that's awful! We have a lot of deliveries, both from couriers and via the mail. We were out when the royal Mail man tried to deliver a parcel, but the lovely chap saw us coming back and returned to deliver for us. Goosey Lucy
I often get a call from my favourite courier if I'm not in to check whether I'm on my way back and if not where he can leave the delivery. Another one always sends me a text if I'm out so I know there has been a delivery.
Alis girls
Sarah have you got - a gun a big strapping man of your own or one you can borrow a mean growly dog. if not a wig and pretend to be someone else. Sorry cant offer any good advice - hopefully they wont send him back to you.
The Dogmother
I see this often at work and at home, the favourite here to to put a 'not in when you called' card through the door when you were in when they didn't ring the bell, and in fact watching them from the window I'd front it out with him Sarah - that's terrible behaviour and he deserves a disciplinary. On the other hand, my weekly Ocado delivery peeps were fantastic 3 years ago when I;d had a big op - they brought all the bags in and unpacked the heavier stuff for me, leaving all the bags on the kitchen worktop so I wouldn't have to bend down. Cinnamon
Well, the other parcel was just delivered by a different chap *phew!* Still got the replacement one to come though. its not in my nature to confront face to face - I would rather phone up their office, which I did, than deal with the person on a one on one basis.
