kazmac
I've never joined Facebook, despite the nagging of several friends! I just don't get it. And when a colleague said she had a farm ...... !! And when one of our senior managers said she got out of bed one night because she'd forgotten to feed the chickens - I thought she had real chickens and thought "Aw, I never thought you were the type". Then she clarified for me that it was her Facebook chickens ...... OMG ...... !!

Lavenders_Blue
I don't like the new FB changes, I find it all a bit confusing to be honest. I don't seem to get e-mail notifications anymore either, so if someone posts on my wall or sends me an inbox message I don't realise until I log in, which I don't do every day, but I do check my e-mails. I also haven't seen this yes/no option to stay friends with people or side bar feed thingy... how have I missed that? I had a bit of a FB cull recently, mostly of people I had worked with a few years ago and weren't in touch with any more and wouldn't be in in the future. I'm not particularly interested if they've just eaten a jacket potato or had a night out on the booze (with accompanying ghastly pictorial evidence) so thought I would downsize my account. It's quite refreshing to only have friends on there who are proper friends (even if they do still post inane stuff!).

It's quite refreshing to only have friends on there who are proper friends (even if they do still post inane stuff!). when you go on someone's profile, or even hover over their name anywhere on facebook, it will have a link saying 'subscribe' if you click it you can pick and choose what you subscribe to in your new news ticker. It should have been an opt in thing, not opt out. they should also have allowed people to block it using their privacy settings. it's 'places' all over again - there was an outcry as people could be 'checked in' to where they were by other people without their consent, and had to 'opt out' to stop their location being given away. Bramble
Sorry to hijack this thread, but thought it would be better than starting another one, I just have a question - if someone removes me as their friend on Facebook, would I get any kind of notification (by email or on my Page) or will I only know when they are not listed in my friends anymore? No you don't get any notifications. I too have been dumped by a couple of people, and indeed dumped a few myself. I think I'd rather not know that someone was removing me, and in turn them not know I was removing them.
Bramble
Thank you, that clears that up! In my case, I have so few friends on Facebook it's rather obvious when one disappears Never mind ... knew there was a reason I don't like Facebook ... Sam
Nope, only way you will be able to tell is if you search for them, and have the option to "add friend" But apparently there are changes soon which give you a timeline allowing you to see who has deleted you and then you will get a notification when someone deletes you Hopefully they will see sense and not give us this 'update'

Cinnamon
A friend of mine told me yesterday that she only adds people to her friends list,if she knows what colour their eyes are. I like that

PapaJuliet
A friend of mine told me yesterday that she only adds people to her friends list,if she knows what colour their eyes are.I like that I accept people if I actually know them and would actually want to be a friend in real life. I get a lot of friend requests from other marshals but if I can't recognise them from their pictures I don't accept the request "just because it's another marshal" PJ
