Seagazer
Sorry you are still so ill. There has been such a nasty chest/throat bug doing the rounds so many people have had it including me and it doesn't seem in a hurry to go. I hope you get better soon. poppy ben grace
Sorry you are so ill, i know how you are feeling as i had this virus just before christmas. same symptoms, had a chest xray which thankfully was fine and 3 courses of antibiotics to shift the cough. Just recovered last week then caught another virus at the weekend but thankfully not so bad. Its a bad virus this one, you need to rest up and recover so make the most of your week off! Hope the xray is ok and you feel well again soon.

Space Chick
Well, I aint half on a roller coaster!!!! Had a bad night last night with chest tightness and pains in my legs So, I went back to the GP this morning to be on the safe side, and was promptly admitted to hospital My blood pressure is higher than its been in ages, I still have a temperature and my resting pulse was still 120 Well, spent the day in the corridor in the Medical Admissions Unit as there were no beds available. Arrived at hospital at 11am, had some bloods taken, and saw a junior doctor. Was called into a treatment room off and on for observations. Anyhow, the upshot is, the chest X-ray I had on Monday has shown that my heart is enlarged, this and my resting pulse at 120 is indicating some heart damage. I'm being referred to a cardiologist for a heart scan and more blood tests but have been allowed to come home Those of you that have known me for some years will know that 2 and a half years ago I had swine flu which damaged my heart, although I was signed off by the cardiologist as the damage repaired itself. Now they are thinking that I have a weakness there (I also lost both of my parents to heart problems when they were in their 40s, so my genetics do not go in my favour ), so time will tell if this damage is temporary or permanent
Ain't Nobody Here
Gosh, that all sounds quite scary . At least they have checked you out though and can start treating you. Fingers crossed it is just temporary damage . How awful to be feeling so ill for so long, I really feel for you .
Tweety
So sorry to hear your update - apart from feeling awful, you must also be very worried about the long term effects. I do hope that the hospital will be able to sort you out quickly, and that you make a full recovery.
Space Chick
I am the kind of person that's always on the go too OH is always on at me to sit down I've missed the Northern as a result of being poorly (and missed the Fed with family issues) so my chicken activities are suffering too.... Thankfully for my pet chickens I have a friends teenage daughter that's helping out with cleaning for extra pocket money that has been a godsend. The Dogmother
Oh golly! Get better soon Debs. Phil's father is slightly better but still very tired and weak, he is 85, has a heart problem and is on warfarin too. He went to the hospital yesterday for blood tests to monitor his warfarin levels (he calls them the vampires ) and they called Phil a couple of hours later; the 2nd lot of antibs that D had been prescribed had reacted with his Warfarin and his blood clotting factor was dangerously low. Phil rushed into the hospital to collect an antidote (vit K) and administered it at home, poor D had to remain motionless as any fall or cut could have resulted in him bleeding to death! He made it upstairs to bed last night instead of sleeping in a chair downstairs, so that's good but he is so weak that he stumbles.

The Dogmother
Me too, he is worryingly listless and befuddled. You take care and get better soon Debs. You might try some of this - Phil's mum's twin sister lives in NZ and swears by it.

The Dogmother
There's a drink/cordial version too by another company. I haven't seen any in the shops yet but am on the look out for them for D.
Seagazer
Gosh Space Chick, how worrying for you. Take care and rest, rest, rest. I hope it all settles down and your heart recovers. YS had an enlarged heart when he was about 5 after getting a virus, very scary for us but thankfully returned to normal. I do so hope this happens for you.
