Chocobo
That's really stupid that they won't let it be shown
Egluntyne
How ridiculous. On that basis they should ban Weetabix adverts. There are plenty of people who have 2 Weetabix every day without fail (Him Indoors being an example!).....does that mean they are not having a varied diet? You couldn't make it up! Cinnamon
I have just read about this in the paper. What a load of codswallop
Rhapsody
There once was a handsome cockerel, With a hundred hens in Spain, Now he's old and slow, He'll never go, To work on an egg again. -Spike Milligan
Guest
That is stupid. We all have and make choices. And my guess is most people eat the same breakfast every day. What about the Special K adverts? Eat a bowl of Special K for breakfast and lunch every day for 2 weeks. Half a grapefruit followed by egg and toast would be a well-balanced meal and a good start to the day. Better than a cereal bar! moochoo
I just can't believe the stupidity of this! They're quite happy to advertise sugar loaded cereals that kids eat every morning but not eggs? I'm sure children and adults would benefit from going to school/work on an egg rather than a short lived sugar rush. The majority of people I work with are hungry again by 9-30 in the morning because they've had a 'healthy' cereal bar for breakfast. Bring back real food!!!! OOOH that feels better! The Dogmother
What load of baloney! Did anyone else hear Terry Wogan's rant about it on the wireless this morning?
craftyhunnypie
Oh how pathetic! Eggs are good for you, so long as you don't have more than 10 a week coz of cholesterol. That's at least one a day + 3 extra!!! I can think of a varied diet just using eggs... Boiled with soldiers Poached Scrambled Coddled with ham & cheese Omlette Fried ( we need a bit of fat ) They would sooner us eat sugary ricicles / frosties or those disgusting Pop tart thingys! What about jam / marmelade which is loaded with sugar. Oh lets all have false teeth before we are 21!!!!!!! Grrrrrrr - this is just stupid! Richard
that is just the most pathetic thing I've heard for quite some time. What with political correctness and all the rest it makes you wonder what our kids are going to be able to watch/read/see etc. in the future. Its OK to show sex and violence on telly, but not some bits of humour (Hancock has to be one of the greats) advertising something good to eat. grrrrr, moan, moan, in my day ........ Geoid
Thats strange, they didn't ban that mars advert "A Mars a day helps you work, rest and play" - sometimes I wonder about these regulations
Lesley
How ridiculous So how do they get away with all those Cadbury ads in the Coronation Street breaks?
Charlottechicken
How utterly stupid! I thought an advert was to promote one particular item. How do all the other ads get shown then if that is the new ruling Will they all now have small print at the end with something like "other foodstuffs are available"?
