The Dogmother
....don't forget to put your clocks on an hour on Saturday night before you go to bed. I received this today, which made me smile: For this Saturday night, field workers from the Department of Time will be out in their masses, creeping through the darkness and wrestling exactly 60 hard earned minutes from our sleepy grip. chickencam
Tee hee At least it happens in the spring if they took sleep away in the autumn I would get very cross, and it looks as though it is going to be a cracking weekend.
The Dogmother
I have some work to do outside, so will be up with the lark.
Duncan08
I have some work to do outside, so will be up with the lark. Or the chickens My girls have definitely noticed the change in the weather and are waking up desparate to get out and face the day. Becoming much more vocal too! Olly
I can't wait - it's already light enough for me to let the hens out after work, and now I'll be able to get an hour's gardening in after work.
chickencam
It is lovely to see the ladies dustbathing at 7.30am I know what you mean about them being vocal too, we have started getting egg announcements, want to lay an egg anouncements, might want to lay an egg but someone else is in my spot announcements... soapdragon
Oh crikey...had completely forgotten so thanks for the reminder, Dogmother ! Both boys sleeping patterns are at odds anyway - we have a lark and an owl whereas I just peak around mid day for 5 mins or so! Always seems to take them so long to get round the change whatever we do ! Equally, it seems to take ages to go round the house re setting all the clocks - so I give that job to OH !!! Will be interesting to see who is at the school gate at the wrong time on Monday morning tho !!!!!
Space Chick
After the nest box war we had at 7am this morning I am glad my neighbours will be disturbed later Also means more quality time in the evenings with the girls I love it when the clocks go forward
Griffin
at nest box wars. Penelope Devereux, Robin & Anne of Cleeves were fighting over the prized nest box earlier, six boxes but five are apparently inferior. After hearing Anne of Cleeves shouting at the top of her voice one too many times from the roof of one of the coops I shut the three of them in a coop for an hour. Hey presto! Three eggs! Do not mess with Mother! I'm dreading an hours less kip, I may have to go to bed ridiculously early to compensate
Space Chick
It is a war in the bantam run.... I have 5!!! Broody silkies all determined to sit in an Eglu nest box.... And one very determined silver pencilled Wyandotte bantam that insists that is the only nest box she is prepared to lay in... The one non broody Silkie and my barred Wyandotte bantam will lay in another nest.... But not Rani she is not happy until she has screeched the neighbourhood down and evicted every single broody Silkie so she can lay in peace I do laugh, but I'm a bit incase the neighbours complain... I had a bit of a scared moment when my next door neighbour popped around earlier Turns out he was wondering if we had internet problems too (which we did). HUGE relief
snowberry
It was only when I was checking all the clocks this morning that I realised that my mobile has been running 5 minutes behind for god knows how long. I hate to be late for anything, so even retrospectively, I am appalled at my behaviour!
Olly
Don't forget to go to 'User Control' and then 'Board Preferences' and click in the box for 'Summer Time' - otherwise your posts will still display as if they were posted an hour earlier. LuckyChickenLover-
Couldn't work out how to change the car clock though. No one could work out how to change the car clock last year, so it's correct now

Angie
I duly put the clocks forward as per rata and still got up at 6am (5 really), crept down stairs and had a tea, fed the dogs and crept out before the chucks got up to give the WIR a good clean out and put nice clean aubiose down, let the girls out and i went back in for a nice coffee and all before 7.30 ( 6.30 ) Had breakfast then took bagged old stuff to the tip , went to Church , did B&q on way home for new sand for dust baths, new baths back in run. I am having another coffee and i am ready for a snooze......worn out. But the girls are spring cleaned..... And my neighbours slept through it all......... Sammiboo
Angie sounds like youve had a busy day!! All girls out in the garden now, sun bathing and dust bathing in various parts of the garden OH has taken all the waste from cleaning to the tip for recycling garden waste. Girls are all clean now, just need to order more aubiose ready for the big clean out next weekend. Hopefully will start the BBQ when OH gets back from the tip and a bit of shopping
The Dogmother
It's been really warm here - Phil and I have been out in the garden with hats and sunscreen on, laying lawn mesh - massive job but done now.
Chook n Boo Mum
Couldn't work out how to change the car clock though. Wanna borrow T-Dawg? He's only one who can change my 500 clock We spend first few days working on new time /old time too
Daphne
I routinely spend 6 months of the year with the wrong time on the car clock as I have no idea how to change it Yesterday I had to remind myself that it was in fact correct and I didn't have a spare hour to be late in
lillybettybabs
I'm all over the place, I normally get up at 7 feed the animals and do a couple of hours studying (til 11) then take the dogs out. I have felt so tired when the alarm goes off that i'm snoozing until 8 (old 7) then getting grumpy with myself for being lazy. The rabbits are a bit all over the place too, i put there food down but they won't eat until it's old 8am Dogs and hens seem to be fine to eat whenever. The Dogmother
I got Phil to do mine as I didn't have my reading glasses on me to look at the manual. It was only right seeing as I was giving him a lift to the pub.

chickencam
I have found the hour particularly hard this time, not helped by having to get up at 6am yesterday, old 5am, to get ED on a train for 7am, she then didn't get back, after a series of delays, until nearly 11.15pm, so once she was home and fed we didn't get to bed until 1am, really didn't want to get up at 7am this morning then.
