Nettex spray disaster in my kitchen

Recommended Posts

I thought I'd warn you all that my Nettex anti peck spray attacked me in my kitchen.

Having used it when Poppy was still here I'd left it just outside the back door. I tidied up ( ) the other day and put it back on top of the kitchen cupboard where it had always lived. Then I did something else in the garden and came back in and was greeted by a funny smell. It took me a while to work out what it was only to realise it was the anti peck spray. It had dribbled/flooded out of the spray bit all over the top of my cupboard and all down the door.

Worse was to come when I picked up the bottle and it splurted all over my chest - missing my face.

I stank and so did my kitchen.

I don't know why it leaked like that but the last time I used it, it didn't squirt properly. I just put the whole lot in the bin.

Just wanted to warn all of you to be careful of the Nettex bottle.

Are you going to ask for a replacement? That's an awful waste of your money, not to mention the cleaning up you've had to do :? .

I had used most of it anyway and when I crossly threw the bottle into the sink after it leaked everwhere, I saw it said 2011 on the bottom.

And the dustmen have got it now anyway.

As for my kitchen it was a good excuse to clean the tops of the cupboards and everything else.

Has the smell gone yet?

TBH I never trust those pump bottles (as opposed to the aerosols) they sometimes block and leak.

I think that must be what happened to it.

The smell finally disappeared with the help of leaving the cupboard door open and spraying it with some of that febreeze stuff each morning and I don't think I smelt it today

Mine has just evaporated - I had a half bottle left & it has simply vanished.

It was stored in the greenhouse though, while we are replacing the hen shed,so its probably my fault.

To be honest it was nice to HAVE to use something else - I always seem to inhale it & taste the stuff for hours afterwards!
