Daphne
23 here, beautiful We've had a very hot summer between 32 and 36 every day with the occasional peak to 40. The weather broke on 4th Sept and since then its been in the mid-high 20s and just perfect
The Dogmother
Can go right off some folks Well, the Weather Channel app ion my phone (brilliant) was right - it forecast rain around 9.45am, and is started at 10.02am!!! Now raining in earnest, but with Phil up for the weekend we have got loads of wood chopped/sawed up and other bits done in the garden. Coming in now and have the stove roaring. chickencam
It is so satisfying having plenty of wood chopped and ready to keep you warm, also lovely to come in after finishing outdoors on a day like this and light a well earned fire. We have cleaned out our ladies, picked some blackberries and plums and the apples off our largest tree, fire is just lit and it is now raining and blowing a gale. The Dogmother
That sounds lovely Liz, enjoy your rest. We went dog walking and blackberrying before the rain started. Lashing about out there now; the house is toasty from the fire and I'm doing the unheard of thing of sitting still in front of a fire and reading through the Sunday papers whilst watching Countryfile. chickencam
Blimey steady on there DM Relaxing late afternoon, cooked a lovely roast beef dinner, OH made pudding from plums and blackberries, a sort of egg custard with some ground almonds to take up the fruit juice, it did have a bit of a soggy bottom but tasted good. It stopped raining at 7pm and the sun came out, think it will be chilly this evening and overnight.
The Dogmother
No sun here, but the rain has stopped and the sky looks to be clearing. Wind seems to have dropped too.
Groovychook
Had a rainy old Sunday here but still fairly mild. Woke up this morning to a succession of beautiful rainbows and some sharp showers. Sunny at the moment and 11 deg.

LolaLayla
I went beach walking this morning and got caught in some horizontal rain It is not quite as windy as yesterday though which caused the local ferry to be cancelled for part of the day. charly1979
Oh DM that sounds lovely I would love to go to that one year ! Details Stick it in your diary to look out for it next year - we are usually there unless it's raining, so let me know which day you're going. Another one you might like if you're into vintage is the Kop Hill Climb, lots of people dress in period costume for that. We are going on Sunday this year unless it rains. Thanks I will definitely try to go next year As for our weather today overcast cold and the odd shower with hail thinking tonight will be a log burner night
chickencam
We had one very heavy shower yesterday and a couple of lighter ones, the sun when it came was warm but the wind was cold, felt more like November than September. Beautiful sunrise here this morning, but very grey now.
Groovychook
It dried out slightly here during the late afternoon/evening. Raining first thing but the cloud is quite high now and there are bits of blue about. Mild again- 16 deg. Might get a bit of sun if we're lucky!
