What are you lot like, lol.......you leave a thread for a few days and talking morehens.......:lol:

All the doodles are in a house tonight as 48mph gales due to strengthen to 60+!!! Lifted the chook off my bedroom windowsill and carried her down...on way back noticed three faces up in the willows! An Isa and two speckledys! Can't reach them, but to be honest they have lived through worse winds up here last winter and it's not too cold and dry. Silly chooks! Have left all the outside lights on incase they decide to relocate in the next few hours, but somehow doubt it!

All chooks present and correct. Lovely sunny day now with a breeze. The oldies have been through a couple of winters of storms now so nothing fazes them........hopefully if they communicate in their own way they can say to the younger ones 'go back to sleep, NOWT but a bit o wind'

Well done on the new chook! I am NOT getting anymore for quite some time as 42 gobs to feed and clean up after is  more than enough! Who knew starting with 6 little chooks would end up as 42 in just over two yrs

Tomorrow I have the enviable job of dragging two organic bins down and mucking out (thankfully good forecast) but it's gonna get mucky this winter... :(

Few doodles in a barrel this afternoon, safe to say the one in front is a boy?

May need to click on the pic to open it fully. Doodles are still sleeping up a tree with mum. Cleaned the houses out yest, and in one saw a Sussex on her lonesome, the other two must have had 16 each or thereabouts?! Oh well they will do as they please. Oh, forgot, three in the willows and a miss speckledy back in my bedroom windowsill!

Enjoying the nice weather once again. The doodlebugs are now in the huge ash tree outside my bathroom window every night with mum? They are getting so big that I struggle to see which they are some lunchtimes. Some of them still squeak when I come home and a couple are still smaller but others almost blend in with the big girls now due to size!

Took miss speckledy of my bedroom windowsill and stuffed her in a house earlier, not sure why I bother as she will be back tomorrow!

Joys of chooks

Horrible wet day, chucking it down. Came home tonight whilst still light and put fresh straw in the little broody coop for the doodles. No?, only use that for daytime shelter........back up 15 FT into the Ash tree they went? They wiil get soaked but nothing I can do about it! Silly chooks! :? Down to only nine eggs today due to moulting/huff re the weather.....roll on spring and the clocks haven't changed yet! Top garden is now pretty sodden and reduced to mud. Gonna be a long five months.........
