Strictly 2013

Recommended Posts

Dave Myers' Pasa Doble was the most unforgettable thing I've ever seen on Strictly.

 I agree ... although it did bring back some memories of John Sargeant!

Love love love Ben Cohen, and I was pleased to see Deborah Meadon do well, I'd love it if one of the slightly older ladies made it through to the end, although it's not likely with Abby, Sophie and Natalie in the running. This is a great series.

I agree, Ben's rhumba was much more emotional, it must have been awkward for his wife and sun to watch though.

Dave was hilarious, I honestly don't think that he has any concept of how badly he dances. Much as I like him thought. Do hope that we don't get one of those situations where he gets votes and stays over someone more talented just because of his popularity. I would like to see him leave this week, then Julien then Vanessa. The standard is so high this year :D

I think Dave should stay for a few more weeks as he is trying really hard and he is very very funny. Loved Ben, thought his dance was beautiful.

I have a bit of a problem with Natalie - she went to a stage school so would have been taught all sorts of dances (probably not ballroom but not difficult to change once you know the techniques). She is starting from a much higher position.

Really like Deborah, like her attitude and her dancing

Excellent show this year

I'm on another forum - strictly (no pun intended) for SCD and there are lots of moans and groans about Natalie's prior experience - even mentioning her 'pro facial expressions'. I think that it must be hard for actors/actresses who have come through stage school not to have any dance experience at all.

One of my favourites is Deborah, you can really tell how much she is enjoying the experience - her smile ever leaves her face. :D

What a great show last night. The standard does seem to be particularly high this year.

I particularly liked Ben's rumba - I think it's such a difficult dance for male celebrities to get right, but he really pulled it off. Susannah's viennese waltz was lovely and I also enjoyed watching Deborah. Robin is one of the pros I really rate as he always seems to be able to get the best out of his celebrity partner and he seems to have really clicked with Deborah.

Dave was a huge irritation and I'd like him to go this week please. Preferably before the results show if at all possible :anxious::lol:

I think Dave is the marmite contestant

Having looked up a few more websites about Natalie her professional resume lists her as a cabaret, jazz and tap dancer. I think the voting public will be pretty wise to this but the trouble is that even if she was in the bottom 2 every week the judges would have to keep her in as her dance would be better technically than anyone else.

So I predict that she will be in the final but will be first out when the voting is purely down to the public.

Julien to go this week please

I wasn't sorry to see Vanessa go tonight I hadn't appreciated that Natalie had "previous" I thought her dance was beautiful last night but now feel a bit miffed! Abby had obviously been told not to scowl in spite of being made to wear surgical stockings for no apparent reason !

I'm a (very surprised) Deborah Meaden fan, too. I find her enthusiasm and enjoyment very infectious. I would not have predicted to like her at all, but I'm routing for her all the way.

Yes I like her too. Saw on show with her horses. Be good for an older woman to win.

Caught up at long last...

Agree re Deborah - and hope she goes a long way.

And I LOVE Dave. I think he is fantastic! He reminds of the quote:

“You've gotta dance like there's "Ooops, word censored!"ody watching..."

And while I know its a dance competition, I think his attitude should keep him in a good few more weeks yet! I get the impression he is in it for the right reasons, and should stay longer than some of the others who appear to be there just to enhance their 'careers'...

How true!

He does dance a bit like he's battering the music into submission, while Deborah seems to let it flow through her, if you know what I mean. Was absolutely puzzled why Abby C was so sulky with the rather good comments she got the other week. Deborah is a nice antidote to taking yourself too seriously.

Hilarious show tonight and it had nothing to do with Brucie's jokes.

I hate to say it but I feel the most improved person is Julien and the most overrated is Patrick, I really like him but I don't think that his dancing is a s good as they say it is.

Deborah struggled this week, hopefully more ballroom for her next week.

Dave for the chop I think, lovely though he is.

Deborah really wasn't up to the jive, and I have to say I think the marking was quite lenient....Craig's marking of Mark made me shout at the telly...his was the dance I enjoyed the most tonight

I'm not a fan of Abby but actually thought she did very well tonight, and I enjoyed Patrick's dance...Ben's proved he can throw his partner around confidently, but I thought his dancing was still quite wooden and was surprised by the marking...

Natalie danced beautifully but as others have pointed out she isn't a complete beginner...

Most disappointed with Fiona tonight......I had high hopes of her being an ambassador for us girls of a certain age and she just isn't improving... :(
