So sad and unfair

Recommended Posts

Sadly my lovely cousin passed away on Wednesday afternoon aged fifty five she had been battling lymphatic cancer for twelve and a half years she wasn't expected to see last autumn but she wasn't having any of it and was still off on adventures until a couple of weeks ago  I don't know how she kept going  she went into our local hospice on Tuesday for what was to be a couple of days respite but suddenly deteriorated and passed away sadly this was so unexpected her daughters didn't have the chance to be with her at the end it's so unfair she threw herself into everything and was an amazing person she never moaned just got on with living life to the full. I am going to miss her so much

Oh Kate, that's so sad...no age at all. My MIL died at the same age 17 years ago from ovarian cancer and was just starting to take life at her own pace and indulge her own interests having just retired. Its very cruel.

It sounds as though your cousin was an amazing person; although her daughters didn't have the chance to be with her at the end perhaps they (and you) can draw comfort from the fact the it WAS quick and that she did not have a long, drawn out deterioration which is so hard on everyone concerned. She has clearly left a lovely legacy in terms of your memories of her; stay strong; sending virtual hugs to you at a sad time.

I am so sorry to hear of your sad news. I agree with what Soapdragon said. I sadly lost an aunt, very unexpectedly, when she was about the same age. Sounds like your cousin was an amazing person, especially fighting this thing for such a long time. Sending you my thoughts at this very hard time (((hugs)))
