Lavenders_Blue
Oh wise Omleteeers, please help me with my annual Christmas dilemma. I posted a similar thread last year about a nephew of mine who has everything a young lad could want... And more! My eldest nephew is 13 and I am really struggling to buy him a Christmas present. He has every kind of gadget imaginable - iPhone, tablet, Xbox etc, but I am reluctant to buy him more 'gadgety' things. Last year I bought him some funky but reasonably inexpensive headphones, only to see him a couple of days later with mega expensive Bluetooth and wireless headphones! He doesn't read much (dyslexia) and board games or activities that require parental input are not an option (my brother and sister in law, I am ashamed to say, don't spend time reading or playing games with their children ) so anything I buy would need to be something he can enjoy by himself. Any ideas?! I do appreciate this is a difficult ask...!
clucker1
Easy option, but at least he can buy something he wants and at this age they are more keen to stash money together to save...anyway what about an amazon voucher.
Princess Leia
Depending on budget, what about an experience day? http://www.redletterdays.co.uk/Experience/Kids
Lavenders_Blue
Thanks Clucker1. Yes, money or a voucher are my fall back options, but I have bought pressies for his two younger brothers, so if at all possible (!) I'd like to be able to buy him an actual gift. Chucky Mama
They do start to like to smell nice at this age. Maybe some 'male grooming' products.
Lavenders_Blue
That's a great idea, Princess Leia, however only one of those is within my budget (tour of Wembley) and I don't think he would enjoy that at all. He is not in the least bit interested in sport!

kinsk
Was going to say itunes vouchers, but also if he has difficulties reading, and his parents don't particularly help, what about audiobook vouchers, he can download audiobooks onto his ipod or whatever. yvonne
Please excuse my hi-jacking of this thread, but I have a similar pressie dilemma and wondered if anyone knew whether itunes vouchers were usable on non-apple stuff ie Samsung phones etc ? Ta Muchly
Snowy
If you use itunes to store your music on your laptop, then yes an itunes voucher can be used to buy music and download it to your laptop. You can't use it for apps and game for the samsung though. Is it an android phone? You can get a Google Playstore voucher that can be used for android apps and games instead. The Dogmother
Gift card for paint balling or laser quest; Rosie and her friends that are lads all seem to love it. Where are they based? If Milton Keynes is do-able, then a treat to the Xscape to go tobogganing or use the climbing wall.
