sparkysmum
What an amazing day Despite escaping injury for the last 6mths I got hideous leg cramps from 10 miles and had to walk for miles Simon's knees gave up after 16 miles and also had to walk for miles. So my time wasn't great. Having said that there were so many great things about the day that you will remember for ever. The crowds, they were simply amazing Their cheering lifted you up and carried you, the weather was amazing , the sights incredible and London's modern skys"Ooops, word censored!"ers have to be seen. It took me over 6hrs to complete but the crowds were still there, still cheering, making every step that wee bit easier London people At the Macmillan Centre afterwards you were a celebrity The wonderful Macmillan event staff, just couldn't do enough for you, every individual runner was cheered when they came in. What a day What an event Thank you all for your donations and messages of support, you too are amazing Me and Elvis Still cant stand upright but so happy with our medals

Chucky Mama
Don't want to hijack your thread Alli but thought you would like to see this. ES's friend ran the marathon and in now in the Guiness Book of records as the fastest person dressed as a crustacian!!
sparkysmum
Totally brilliant Chucky and what an amazing time too. There were some real characters there, for a while I ran with a guy singing karaoke, was overtaken by at least one rhino, was almost beaten by the macmillan mug and I think I might have shaved a few seconds of a male pamela anderson lookalike who was in as much pain as I was A blind runner and his guide were staying in our hotel. It was his 19th marathon and they finished about 2 hours in front of us. Awesome Axx

Ain't Nobody Here
Brilliant . Alli, did you happen to spot Freddie Mercury? aka Bob, a member of our running club - he had to carry the hoover as race rules forbid you to push anything that has wheels . Alli, did you happen to spot Freddie Mercury? aka Bob, a member of our running club - he had to carry the hoover as race rules forbid you to push anything that has wheels . Crikey that must have been so hard I have to take my hat off to anyone who runs in a costume. When I ran/shuffled a marathon I was determined not to be beaten by the man dressed as a pair of a certain part of a man's anatomy for a prostate cancer charity

Amazingly Simon spotted him and thinks he may actually have sneaked passed him. Freddy must have been shattered carrying his hoover Btw we will be having coffee and cakes on Sat 26th for all who donated to Macmillan. All welcome.
