Kathy C
In Dawlish, Devon where my mum comes from, there is a dairy which sells cones where the ice cream is covered by clotted cream. The cream freezes and goes all crunchy. It is a delight not to be missed and replicated at home whenever to have "spare" Devonshire cream. Lesley
The little farm shop next to the abattoir has some farmhouse hand made ice-creams - my favourite is Damson and Sloe Gin. I've tried making my own but it needed more damsons. The damsons are just about ready for picking here so I shall try again
moochoo
My favourites are black cherry or a good rum and raisin. There is an ice cream made be Snugburry's near Chester that adds all the honeycomb, nuts, sprinkles, ect left over from the other varieties to a jersey vanilla ice cream that one is especially yummy. When I go there I have to sit in their grounds, admire the scenery and share ice cream with their goats (well the cone anyway)
Guest
I had a go at making some last weekend; Hugh FW's recipe It was lovely. I made some plain vanilla and some with fresh strawberries
Snowy
Hmmm - it has to be coconut as my real favourite, but love most ice cream!

Cate in NZ
Mmmmm, you've all mentioned some really tempting flavours............ Lesley, I love the sound of Damson and sloe gin But, whilst I try other flavours as an experiment I'm really actually very boring. My absolute favourite, never been beaten yet is vanilla. It's got to be good quality vanilla, I'm a bit of an ice-cream s"Ooops, word censored!" , can't abide cheap ice cream, and so far the nicest I've found (in my opinion of course) is good old Green & Blacks vanilla Yum I've only ever tried to make my own ice cream once, and it wasn't exactly an unmitigated success, I don't think I mixed it well enough/ often enough and it was full of unpleasant lumps of ice. I'd quite like to try again, but I'm very limited as to freezer space, and I really can'y justify the expense of one of those super duper ice cream makers that do the freezing as well, tempted though I am. Couperwife
the last time I had icecream, it was Ben and Jerry's phish food, it was yummy, but made me sick. I tried it twice just to see, and it was definitely the ice cream not eaten ice cream since
