Bramble
Hello Omlet Oracle!!! Just wondering if anyone can recommend any sticking plasters, please? I'm finding all the ones I've tried recently are absolutely HOPELESS as they don't stick! Thanks everyone!
Eggasperated
I'd like to know too! Sitting here with a plaster on my finger which is constantly coming unstuck and trying to slide off the end of my finger, there's no way it would stay on if my hand got wet, useless!! Bramble
Glad I'm not the only one!!! I used to find cheap plasters stuck better than expensive ones, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore ... I'm tempted to resort to Duck Tape! Geoid
You need fabric plasters. They will stick to anything! I use these which are very sticky and cheap too! I have also used these, they are a bit more expensive, but have the added advantage of being waterproof.
Bramble
Thank you very much, Fred! I don't think I've tried Boots' own brand ones (certainly not for a while) so will definitely give those a go ... I don't tend to find Elastoplast stick very well - or perhaps it's just that whenever I cut anything (which is quite often ) it's always on a joint which makes it harder to stick ... Geoid
If it's on a joint, I normally cover it with some micropore tape, but failing that, duct tape does the job !
Charlottechicken
I have also found the cheap fabric ones don't come off easily. If it is a small wound then I find the best thing to use is Germoline New Skin. Stings a bit, but much better than a plaster for cuts in awkward places, like fingers! chickencam
I have found Superdrug own brand to be good.
Eggasperated
Thanks everyone , I will give the waterproof fabric ones a go - I will have to cut myself a few times to try them out .
Lavenders_Blue
I agree - fabric plasters are the way to go. The plasticky waterproof ones are rubbish!
Bramble
Thanks everyone - I will zip to superdrug and boots for stocks - I think I go through so many plasters not 'cos I cut myself a lot, but because plasters are useless and I end up using about 8 before I get one to stick and that's before I've got them wet. I got some of these last night http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=250537351 initial impressions are they're ok, the one I tried has survived the night, although it's peeling off this morning, but 12 hours is nearly a record for a plaster!!! Chickendoodle
Boots and Elastoplast also do special finger plasters which have an extra long sticky end bit which you can wrap around your fingerto keep the plaster on. They are brilliant
Chickabee
I got a big supply on Amazon. Fabric ones. The finger plasters are brilliant as they're extra long and stay on
Bramble
I think the long finger plasters work well because they're long enough to end up sticking to themselves (if that makes sense) which helps to anchor them - can't be that hard (can it?) to make plasters that actually stick to people!?!?
