gavclojak
Oh I hope you wasn't offended DM....as I say, I saw your photo and was so far from what I had imagined you looked like it was untrue ! Reading through this thread, we all do it, make assumptions:))
The Dogmother
Not at all - it made me chuckle. I've met a good few Omleteers in my time, and some of them are different in appearance from my assumptions, but still very like their on-forum personalities. Chickabee
Why has "Ooops, word censored!"ody tried to guess what I look like? I'm tall slim, have long flowing locks, 34 double D's. Only wear Chanel, Gucci or Prada. I keep my dogs in my handbag and I never get my hands dirty. I also never wear flat shoes. Oh and I'm 25 years old
mullethunter
Well that's what I'd assumed anyway! DM - I only do that when I'm not fishing

Chickabee
Well some of it was true about 20 years ago. I don't do designer, I love comfy shoes. Also having had 4 children, 2 horses several dogs, a couple of cats, a couple of rabbits and lots of chickens, my hands have been getting very dirty for about 22 years. Still I can dream
Olly
There a serious point to all this though - we feel we know people on the Internet, but really we don't. I could be any age, male or female, live in a flat with no garden and have no chickens at all but just enjoy chatting to people online ... it's very easy to create a credible persona online and build on it. Not trying to scare anyone, but please remember to be safety conscious, not just on this forum but anywhere like this.
Ain't Nobody Here
I may be female but I certainly ain't no lady . Actually a bit of a tomboy really, don't do girly stuff!
gavclojak
Your so right olly...I have perhaps given away more than I should....I don't use any other forums, I don't do Facebook,Pinterest,Instagram....nothing....this really is the only one. I really like this thread. It's quite telling, not just the assumptions people make but also how people see themselves... What I find fascinating about this forum is although we may be wildly different,we come from all walks of life, be different ages, sexes and genders and have nothing in common except a shared interest in keeping chickens it is a jolly nice place to dip in and out of!!! Cat tails
You both are absolutely right here Olly and Gavclojak. I've been on many different fora during my life (mostly as teenager) but this one is the most relaxed and friendly one so far. Other fora often had loads of TROLLS (people who try to advertise, joke around and wind up others) but none here. I have been in many useless online fights over nothing but a difference in opinion. Here everyone is respected for their knowledge or lack of it. But I was just thinking... Beantree is going to be rather nonplussed about this topic, reading it back...! The Dogmother
Omlet threads have habit of growing organically and going off-topic... it's standard procedure
Daphne
And for reasons I absolutely cannot explain I thought Mullethunter was either German or Austrian either with a double barrelled name...Mulle Thunter....or that Mulle Thunter meant something in German.... I just didn't see the Mullet bit! What an idiot I can be Oh, and I am, most definitely, female

Valkyrie
Oh dear I have laughed myself silly. Ahhh DM - you big girl you! Biggest squeeziest hugger I've ever met! Of course those that don't know me I'm a very tall busty blonde. I also thought hair do! In fact I thought it was something on the lines of "I really do not like people wearing mullets - worst hairstyle ever" kind of thing! I'm in agreement there though. And I thought also Polish for Gavclojak. Or a Telly Savalas fan.
