mullethunter
Ever since we saw it on a cat food packet, we've called our girls Kips instead of Chickens. I'm hoping you have silly collective names too....?
Cat tails
"Kip" is the Dutch word for chicken! But plural would be kippen. I call mine "kippetjes" (little chickens), but my mum calls them the three musketiers
Ain't Nobody Here
We call ours the Doodles (short for Chickadoodles) .
jimnpaula
We have Mad Madams.
jeshen
Ours are in two distinct groups of five. We call them the Montagues and the Capulets. They go out of their way to avoid each other and give each other evil looks from opposite sides of the garden.
PixieDust
Due to the dog loving a bit of raw chicken or even chook, we are referring to them as "The Girls". When he visits "The Girls" at the farm or as he did at my friend's house, get pecked on the nose by one of "The Girls", he's hopefully learning to disassociate them from the delicacy that tastes good! My friend has 3 dogs, and for the chooks safety she refers to them as the "Tortoises"
mullethunter
Kippen it is then! Now I know I have dutch chickens! Jeshen that's brilliant. I like doodles too - I know redsunsets new ones are the doodlebugs. And Pixiedust - tortoises?! That really does make me feel less mad. gavclojak
I wanted to call my new girl henifer Anniston, but after princess layer and hen solo I went for something a little more regal.....fauna (Disney princess)
Minnie&Moose
I'm ashamed to say we referred to the chicks we hatched this year as 'Molly's snacks' - in reference to our cat Molly, who kept a very close eye on them. Once they got past cat 'snack' size, they became 'the dinners' until we knew for certain which were male and which were female - unfortunately there were many more 'dinners' than there were pullets
Pottage
My little flock are "The Weeds", things that wreck your garden and keep popping up where you don't really want them Two of them are individually called Pecky & Steve, my husband and I are Becky & Steve so we thought those names were amusing. Steve has turned out to be a bit dim and she's really greedy. Husband isn't overly impressed

redsunset
Dunno about the rest but my fave on here has to be 'Wardrobe' , makes me smile every time I read it! It's a kinda hard to top that name, lol

dancing cloud
When these two were very small, they were the Little Cheeps because they were constantly cheeping. As they got older, they became the Chickpeas. When in mischief they are definitely Those Chickens!
kinsk
Our Welsummers are called "The Bridgets" with their cockerel Mr Darcy. The Legbars were called "the sheep" as our original ones just died for fun.
mullethunter
We always say how sheep are useless and just give up and die at the slightest excuse! I hope I never have to name my chickens after them!
jeshen
Our cockerel is called Mr Darcy, too, kinsk And a handsome hunk he is, too! His wives should have been Lizzie, Jane, Kitty etc, but somehow Daphne, Shirley and Gloria seems to suit chooks better!
