Chickabee
Found one of my exbats in her run dead just now. No signs of illness, nice weight lovely red comb, well feathered. Guess her time was up. RIP little one
Cat tails
Sorry to hear... She had a great life with you and now she's off to the evergreen free ranging pastures.
mollyripkim
So sorry to hear that, must have been a shock but I am sure she had a lovely free life with you. I have an oldie who is well but I dread finding her gone one day, although at least that way it is peaceful.
Beantree
Sorry to hear that Chickabee. We have had quite a few ourselves and it always comes as a shock. I've always assumed heart attack, but not all had the tell-tale purple comb. All ours were perfectly healthy up to that point as well, in fact one was laying regularly after years of absence and we found her in the nest box after she was missing from the evening head count. mullethunter
Sorry to hear that Chickabee but for us all, chickens included, I've always thought that's the best way to go. Happy and well until the end.
