Mrs Nesbitt
Sooooo.... after a 4 year hiatus, I finally picked up some new chickens... Yay!!! Previously had 5 girls back in 2011 in a green eglu but in recent times the rabbit took up residence (minus the perches!). Rabbit still going strong and it didn't seem fair to turf him out and back into an old fashioned wooden hutch without permanent access to a run, so I bought a secondhand red rabbit eglu yesterday, moved the rabbit in, moved the green eglu onto the old veggie patch and picked up the new girls for the original chicken eglu today... Kids are very excited (me too! me too!) and we've just decided on names... so meet Daphne the partidge , Shirley the sussex , Pamela the Dorset gold and Mavis the copper blue maran Will eventially let them free range behind netting, but for now just letting them settle in and know where home is Happy days... Those poor pigs in your blog. I live in Norfolk and it's so nice to see the pigs and piglets out in the feilds. I know our animal welfare is not perfect but it is one of the best in the world, I think!
