Egluntyne
A moments inattention this morning when lifting a box into the car and I've gone and done my back in. Tarnation. Am high as a kite on painkillers and dying to go to the loo but can't quite work out how I'm going to achieve it! Couldn't even sit at the computer for a couple of hours this aft. Still hurts like crazy but I was getting withdrawal symptoms from not being on the forum.
Christian
Oh Egluntine! Sorry to hear you have hurt your back! I know how you feel. I had 5 weeks off work at the start of the year after a very bad landing! Try and get some Naprosyn from the Docs! They are very good Hope you feel better soon, lots of hot baths! Mrs Frugal
Oh dear, Egluntine. Look after your back and rest it, won't you. Hope it's soon feeling better. I did mine a few years ago and it's not much fun. Take care and let everyone run around for you and bring you lots of cups of tea and choccy biscuits xxx
Jools
You have my sympathies. I live with a dodgy back which behaves itself ... provided I behave myself too. This weekend I've been digging far too much and my back is complaining now. Grrrr. I feel some alcoholic pain relief coming on

theherd123
Sorry to read that you have done your back in, what a nightmare for you. I always use the 8 hour heat packs as they work really well to ease off the pain. Do hope you are back on form soon

Cate in NZ
Aaaargh, Egluntine, how miserable. Chocolate, wine and painkillers don't cure the back pain, but they can go a little way to helping Rest surely does help, and if it's not resolving speak to your GP, a little physio or osteopathy may help. Take care.

Cinnamon
Take care & rest up I would recommend a glass of red, but it sounds like you don't need it with those painkillers
The Dogmother
Ouch! Take care Hon and keep it warm. I slipped a disc at Christmas and had to wait 2 days before I could see my osteopath Sorted in a trice though. A big, gentle hug for you. Egluntyne
Thanks everyone. I might give an osteopath a go if it doesn't improve.

Egluntyne
A friend has given me a recommendation. Appointments are hard to get though What will an osteopath do that differs from a physio?
The Dogmother
Osteopaths use a much more active manipulation to rectify the problem - they use a holistic approach to the whole body and lifestyle too. Go for one that is recommended by someone you know well - some are just useless. I'm lucky in that mine is very good and knows my body very well after 13 years of treatment. I get a fair share of sports injuries, which he can usually fix very quickly too.

Lesley
Only just caught up with this Egluntine - hope it has eased a bit today? Like Jools, I live with a dodgy back and have to wait for it to sort itself in the morning - that's why I'm usually here early in the morning with a cup of Rose and Hibiscus tea and painkillers I still see a Sports Physio for my knee and she also works on my back - handy because my Osteopath of many years moved away from the area.
