 Can't wait to see them. The only thing better than me getting new chickens is someone else getting new chickens :D

Hahaha lets hope they fit in with the others.

My three are now put in with a big cockerel. Gorgeous lad, but Merel was less than impressed and even attacked him. Her broody hormones gave her a bit too much attitude! Ginger ignored it all and just went for the food and Leentje didn't really know what to do.

Well what a coincidence. I was just about to post that I'd been struck by moorhens. I've just bought 2 12 week old Araucanas. They are so sweet. I'll get photos when I can. Sorry to burst in on your post cattails. Can't wait to see yours. Dutch bantams are so gorgeous :D

They are here!

So far a few squabbles. Ginger is ignoring the lot, convinced she will stay top hen.

Merel had a squabble with the partrigde, so I guess she was bottom hen in her old trio. Leentje had a squabble with the white hen, so guess she ranked as second in command, with the cockerel being top. Trying to keep the peace with some greens and extra feeders. Although my old lot is now busy taking dustbaths.

The little white one is a little more wary of me, but more daring towards the others and is pottering about nicely. The partridge hasn't left the stick she's on yet and has been complaining for the past 2 hours...

After all these years, I finally have a white hen!

When I was about 5, 6, we used to go to a particular zoo quite often. And they used to have a flock of big white chickens, very tame too. And I would just pick one up and carry it around.

No eggs yet. But they are definitely mature. Not sure how old they are, as they were dumped/found together with a cockerel. They were kept in an indoor rabbit cage, waiting for a new owner as the guy from the farm didn't have any other space available.

So they could be last years hatch or years old. Who knows?

Got some worming drops, Iverquantel, which you give orally. They contain ivermectin, plus some other stuff. Now just need to do some chicken wrangling...

On another note: I really don't get chickens...

Merel and Leentje are picking on both new chickens. Ginger is the boss of Leentje and Merel. But my new white hen is going after Ginger.

The partridge really hasn't left the roost in the top of the cage yet.
