'Strange' Neighbour

Recommended Posts

We're having our side fence replaced using concrete gravel boards & post and wooden panels. Being concerned about hedgehogs, we arranged to have some 5" x 5" holes cut through in a few places to allow them easy passage. Our fence is the end fence for 3 neighbours  - so I went round and told them what we were planning out of politeness. One wasn't in, so I left a note. Yesterday, this neighbour asked the workers to get me to talk about something. Turns out she didn't know what a hedgehog was (??) but is scared of them so intends to block the hole ! She doesn't mow her lawn as she seen frogs and is scared of them - similarly, squirrel, pigeons, mice! No point arguing (we'll simply push the blockage back a bit to allow access when she's not looking!). Has anyone else got strange neighbours ?

One of ours puts out s"Ooops, word censored!"s of food for the rats and talks to them.

.... slightly over keen censoring there! I was just using the normal not sweary word to say small unwanted pieces of food.

I agree!

Makes me want to experiment what else will be over censored... What if I wanted to tell you I have been s"Ooops, word censored!"ing away the snow... or wanted to take on s"Ooops, word censored!"booking? Or visit a skys"Ooops, word censored!"er this weekend? And then visit the s"Ooops, word censored!"heap?

Sorry about the overzealous censorship folks, we're fixing that now.

The over-sensitive censorship should now be fixed!

Yeah!

So I can finally take my scrapbook to a skyscraper and start scraping it over their scrapheap?

When we first had chickens our neighbour hammered a strip of those half round wooden little posts to our fence at the bottom the day after he saw them from his bedroom window.  To this day I don't think 3 fat Orpingtons would have managed to slide through a gap that a mouse would have had to squeeze through.O.o  So I left my raspberry escapee plants growing along the fence.  If they spread into his garden he should thank me for freebie fruit!

I'm surprised he didn't put some sort of netting at the top of the fence - they have wings too?  Although flying higher than 2 ft was an amazing feat for any of those girls!  But then I was at the bottom of the garden when Cheyennes babies took off over my head - synchronised fly-past.  They got clipped and never did it again!  That was Squirt and Tipsy - still got Squirt!
