Martin B
Well, I'm sure no doubt that Shona, Ali and Louise will tell me I'm a week or 2 late. But I'd just like to say goodluck to all the Teachers and Students who will be returning to school this week. Good luck to everybody who has exams this year, I'm sure it'll fly by so be sure to meet your coursework deadlines! Work hard, and as an extra incentive you can have 7 weeks off next year! Don't thank me, thank the Moon! (Believe it or not) Martin

Snowy
Too late for us in Leicester too - Dan had his first day at school on Thursday! (He didn't like it because they wouldn't let him play with the train set all morning, and he had to come home at dinnertime when he wanted to stay all day ) Looked so cute in his uniform though

Chocobo
going into year 10 on thursday- has anyone else noticed how long school terms go on, and how short the holidays feel? It must be some evil government plan
ubereglu
Well I technically start Year 10 on Wednesday, but as I'm a Peer Tutor I get the lucky job of helping out tomorrow with the Year 7's and Year 9's whilst they're doing Super learning day. (At least I don't have to go in as soon as school starts though )

(At least I don't have to go in as soon as school starts though ) Devon goes into Year 10 on Wednesday Liz, & Cleo into Year 8 on Thursday. The STUPID school didn't inform us of return dates until the last day of term, & only then told us that year 10 were starting a day earlier to the rest of the school - a tiny 1 line easy to miss bit in the newsletter Ridiculous - I have sent them a very strong email
Guest
Well, I'm sure no doubt that Shona, Ali and Louise will tell me I'm a week or 2 late. Actually Martin, we now live minutes from the border with England, so half the children that my lot play with are still off, because they go to school in Berwick, while my lot go to school in the village! It's been terribly confusing!

ali-s
Good luck to everyone starting a new school year, especially the staff Natalie and Jack have been back at school 2 weeks now. They have 4 more weeks of torture and then 2 weeks holiday
Guest
I went back today, to a new school and the kids come back tomorrow. It was horrible spending the day with staff I didn't know and I can't wait to get some kids into my classroom. Mind you I have to start with a year 11 form that has 20 kids in it 10 from each of 2 other forms (in year 11 they are splitting them into smaller forms so they can have more individual attention). The kids arn't happy to be getting a new form tutor who they don't know (but they will come to love me - I'm great with year 10 and 11). I then have to start the day with information about berevement counselling and fundraising following the death of one of their year group during the holiday. It can be just as awful for us teachers guys!

ubereglu
I've just had a scary thought, my sister might be getting ready to teach this time next year-she only needs to do her PGCE and then she gets to be a teacher. (With any luck!)
The Dogmother
Rosie is back tomorrow, she's looking forward to it as there are lots of challenges; She's officially in year 5, but they have fast-tracked 6 children of her year to be in a year 6 class - they are mostly covering year 5 work, but can work at an accelerated rate and join in with year 6 curriculum too. She's sort of looking forward to it, but is also a bit trepidacious. Good luck in your new job pengy
