Guest
I think what I'm gleaning from this thread in the main is that you don't really care what you wear, as long as your girls have fine feathers? And chicken owners really are a cross section of different types of folk, I've enjoyed this thread a lot

Tessa the Duchess
not me, too much of a baby, try to avoid pain wherever possible! Me too Poet The problem for me with Tattoos is that they are so..... well 'permanent'. A few years ago a friend of mine fell madly madly in love with a girl he met and he had her name (Rose) tattood on his arm with a big red rose. A few weeks later they broke up, he was heartbroken and said he felt really stupid with her name on his arm after she had dumped him Tessa. The Dogmother
My sister has a red devil at the top of her leg, she's never admitted it to our mother and wishes she'd never had it done. I like looking at them, in fact I am fascinated, but don't feel inclined to get any of my own.

The said Olivia dumped him soon after. At Him Indoors' jokey suggestion he had a "B" put in front of it, and the Bolivian flag tattooed underneath. Of course...he is now back with Olivia. Christian
There we go, all nice and suitable for families now! Did make me laugh though! After i lost 5 stone and discovered i had hip bones I had a small tattoo on my hip. A Chinese symbol meaning music and song. I used to sing many moons ago and i thought it was appropriate. No, you will not be seeing pictures.
Olly
Awww, go on Christian! I would post a picture, just not techie enough to do it. I have a Celtic symbol on my shoulder ... when people ask what it means, I usually say it stands for 'you should know better at your age'! I had my first tatt when I was 40, it's a Chinese symbol for 'chi', and it was the smallest thing in the book as I was so scared! The Celtic one was a sort of bond with my best friend, who has a very similar one, she'd had a very hard year last year and was super-keen for me to get one, and I kind of felt it linked us somehow. Ok, stupid, I know, but it felt right at the time! I can't explain it, but there is something really exciting about getting a tattoo ... and no, it doesn't hurt, at least not much. I have to admit that "Ooops, word censored!"ody at work knows about them though!
Snowy
I used to collect dragons and was born in the chinese year of the dragon. Not long after we met OH had a large dragon tattooed on his upper arm for me Bit of a back handed compliment Anyway, a few years ago I plucked up the courage to reciprocate and had a fancy 'A' tattoed on my right shoulder. I told him I had a surprise for him - he was all overcome when I showed him! When people ask what the A stands for I tell them it is his initial, but that if anything ever happens to him it'll stand for 'Available'. bronze
ok chickens like my clothes I go for what I like whether that be designer or cheap I guess most of mine are mongrel chooks except my silver laced wyandottes. Most of my clothes are cheap though and thats because of cost. I do like some designer but like my chickens its for that specific look not because theyre designer Tattoos I have 2 a celtic knot on my ankle and a flower on my stomach (at least it still sort of looks like a flower) Does anyone know a reliable tattooist that will tattoo on fingers as I am yet to find one? I like your style Snowy! A friend of mine has lots of tattoos and piercings, I think they suit her took, even if they do clank when she walks I used to work with a gay bloke, who had a rose tattooed on his buttock - he was just in the process of showing it to me when someone walked in the office Shame really, he had a nice bum! It's not the pain that deters me - my high pain threshold is legendary; it's just not for me aesthetically. I still like them though. Phil has been on about havign one for ages - I suggested that he get some hair tattooed on!
superjules
Chooks - Omlet GNR, although if my evil plans succeed and I can get my 8'x8' run built this week, I'm going to Thornes to buy some more hybrids - I've seen a lovely big feathery bluebelle - wonder if they'll reserve her for me? Clothes - Mainly M&S, Boden, Monsoon - although more often via charity shops and ebay! The kids always wear Vertbaudet. Main priorities are clothes that are low maintenance (not hand wash or dry clean only!) and wear well without falling to bits, that don't cost the earth. Tattoos - a 3" black panther on my right shoulder, which people sometimes think is a lizard from a distance I suppose it is a bit faded now as it's around 15 years old. Interesting thread Poet! Snowy, I love your comment about your tattoo!
