Cinnamon
Helen, its really pretty. I live in a village too - here is our most picuresque cottage - the owner is one of my egg customers The pub, down the road The little shop, opposite the pretty cottage (its for sale if anyone is interested!) I watched 'The Vicar of Dibley' for only the second time last night (I did see the one with Sean in years ago) & told Hubby I loved that village. Well, its only a few miles away - its called Turville. It is also home to the windmill from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang & a cracking little pub at the bottom,so we are popping over there for a look over the holidays

Charlottechicken
Where I live is not in the least bit pretty, very urban/industrial, with lots of takeaways and even a lap dancing establishment, lots of builders yards too. However this pic is of somewhere just literally round the corner and down the road a bit from my house, the clue is on the van

Charlottechicken
Here's where the river of liquid chocolate enters the factory. When I was little I was horrified to see ducks swimming on it But of course they clean it before they make anything out of it

Charlottechicken
When I was little I thought it was THE chocolate factory from 'Charlie and the Chocolate factory'. At Bournville station, just round the corner, I used to stand by the 'Cadbury' sign and the 'glass and a half' (both now gone)when I used to commute. I may be on several early morning tourist pics, as tourists took snaps from the opposite platform. Bournville station is actually painted Cadbury purple too(well, two shades at the moment ). Ain't Nobody Here
I'm very envious of all those pretty little villages some of you live in. Here's my offering, none of which were taken by me but they could have been! We're in the midst of this lot: The woods at the end of my road: Our favourite dog walk from the house (nothing to do with the pub halfway round!) Edinburgh from the Pentland Hills. We are almost in the centre of the picture (I'm waving ): The view from the estate: A nicer view of the Pentlands and The T Wood. My parents live about 1/4 mile to the left and Robert Louis Stevenson lived in one of the houses you can just see during his late teens/early 20s:

Couperman
Well we live at Dunkirk, Adding wartime to our beach seemed a bit bizarre at the time, it was a shame we were on holiday during filming A lot of the film set stuff is still there! If you are not with me google Atonement Kev.
Egluntyne
Egluntine you look like you get the best of both urban and rural worlds We do! From my side of the city we are literally 5 mins away from the most beautiful countryside....just over the border into Derbyshire. It is all a well kept secret. chelsea
heres my local pics. We live in a small rural Devon village. Population less than 2,000 (1 shop, no cashpoint, tiny post office) Even though I hate the house I live in (because its modern and lacks character) I cant complain about surroundings - I have woodland and fields less than 1 minute from my door. Suprisingly most of the photos I have found are of the lovely local cosy pubs around here - and there are LOADS to go to. this is our village pub/restaurant the canal up the road where we often walk the dog the garden centre our nearest shopping town - 7 miles away pretty pub 10 minute drive away typical drive and view of my area our village church
