Cinnamon
Don't think I am going to watch this one it looks pretty gruesome from what I have seen on the adverts, & it would be preaching to the converted in my case anyhow Let me know how it is,won't you? Cinnamon
OK, I think I will Sky it,then I can skip through the squeamish bits I am a slave to my delicate constitution!
Snowy
I would like to see it to be better informed about how some of these processed chicken meals are made.
Louise
Most of the birds in those start off in Thailand - that is all you need to know Snowy

feemcg
A chap on Practical Poultry forum says he's on the show with Jamie 'doing something not very nice' - having seen the trailers, I think I can guess what that is
chelsea
I think he's doing gassing of chicks and an actual slaughter on the show with an audience. And of course he will be doing his food bits.
chickenanne
I can guess what raw processed chicken looks like, and therefore just couldn't ever touch the stuff ! To be fair any raw offal looks a bit grim, and I would eat chicken liver etc and would boil up any giblets to make gravy (well, from turkey anyhow, you don't really get them with bought chickens)... I do agree that if you eat meat (which I do) you should be able to face up to the slaughter of animals (which I do). ...am undecided wether to watch the programe or not now... Guest
I will definitely be watching! I am really pleased to share in what is happening this week and to support both Hugh and Jamie in what they are trying to do. They are united and it was lovely to hear Hugh plugging Jamie's programme this morning and telling us it will come from a different angle than his did. All I have to do is give an hour of my time. Egluntyne
I've set Sky+ to record it.
theherd123
I will be watching too - but hiding under the duvet at the horrible bits (just like i did earlier in the week) As a result of HFW Chickens Out we have had a new customer for eggs - i think there may be a rush on Monday - little do they know they will have to join a queue! I think HFW & Jamie are doing a grand job on behalf of the chickens
Lesley
We will be watching - I want to see what actually goes on. I shouldn't think it will make comfortable viewing.
Cate in NZ
I'll watch, wouldn't miss it for the world, although I suspect that I might avert my eyes for some of the gruesome bits .
buffie
well done guys. I'll be watching of course BBx
craftyhunnypie
We have recorded it for viewing later & also Corrie to cheer us up afterwards! I know it won't be easy to watch, but we also want to know what goes on! I spoke very loudly behind a lady buying budget battery eggs from Iceland yesterday. She was a posh lady too - so I don't think it was a case of what her budget could afford. More like greed..her getting more eggs for spending less - tight moo! I said something like, I could never buy caged bird eggs, even though they were cheaper, I actually have a heart & people who buy such eggs must be heartless. She hurried off with her horrid purchase rather quickly! I was pleased in Waitrose that they are making a point about free range chickens - they have little pictures up & a good choice of free range chickens & pieces. I'm dreading watching this program, but I just have to! Having chickens, really wakes you up to reality! Emma.x
Ain't Nobody Here
I've got it set to tape as OH wants to watch it and he's out tonight. I was in Waitrose today and bought a freerange chicken for under £6. I did see some that were between £12 and £15 though . "Gold" something label? Joojoo
oh god! I hope they aren't going to gas those chicks live on tv
Chicken Licken
they did gas those chickes live on TV ! Much as my neighbours would not bless me for it I do feel sorry for the cockerels. In my mis- spent youth I did once slaughter and eat a chicken ( I was hungry and none of it was wasted), but I don't think I could keep boy chickens for meat and do it regularly I think we are probably the converted - those poor bat girls they are so sad compared to my girls who were waiting for me at the back door when I got home today! Guest
hard hitting, powerful, gut wrenchingly sad up to now but I think it's going to have a huge affect!
Joojoo
The only thing with gassing the chicks is it is relatively quick but obviously some of them take so much longer to die than others. Even so, it has got to be so much better than the miscerator (sp). What an horrific death!!! There is just no comparison between the happy healthy free girls in our back gardens and those poor creatures. What a life Edited January 11, 2008 by Guest
Snowy
I didn't realise that the battery hens spend their lives stood on a sloping floor! No wonder they have limps and achy legs when they are rescued! Poor girls
