D'ya know what - I've been puzzling over these pictures and I take back what I said earlier.

 

The lighter coloured one is definately a pekin bantam. However, looking at the other girl, she's got a tail much more like a brahma. Nothing like the pekin tail at all.

The upright tail looks more like that of a boy to me.

The hackle feathers look rounded rather than pointy.....so maybe it is a girl.

In the bottom photo, the hen on the left looks like my lavender pekin. However the hen on the right looks the spitting image of my blue cochin the way her tail feathers stick up and her general stance.

Well Well....I went to see the man who sold me them and asked him specifically what they were....he said ...one was a PEKIN, and the other was a BELGIAN MILLEFLEUR...??.....and that they were deffo girls...we have spent all day converting our summer house into a greast chicken house...wait till you all see it! i shall post pics up tomozz...

When I looked at getting pekins - I realised you can get millefleur pekins. They are beautiful - I'd say deffo pekins. Lovely!

99% sure they are Pekins.

 

Think you were robbed though, no offence I've seen them advertised around here at £15 each.

unfortunately living in london has many extravagant and overinflated prices, it goes with the city, and the people who live in it.. hmphhhh!

 

but its ok, you win some you loose some, i'm not too unhappy about the cost of my new little girls, because, as i said before i paid for the convenience, there are very few chicken breeders around london and it would have meant a lengthy drive..and time is money so meh...it's ok...

 

i think they are lovely and i knew i was paying too much from the start, but they were sitting there in this little cage, and i felt as if i was rescueing them ,,,you should see where they are living now its really lovely and we will look after them beautifully...

 

i have had to keep them apart from our other girls since friday when i bought them ,and i will put them all together prob tuesday.

 

they make a really different sound to the others, it's really high pitched compared, and they are very very sweet natured..they don't have that bossy look about them...ahhhh

I hate to think how many chickens you are going to end up with eventually cheryl! Just don't visit a proper chicken breeder, or before you know it, you'll have sold your house and moved to a small holding in the country!

Just had another look at the pictures Cheryl - sorry, I was rushing earlier - and the blue one def has a sticky up tail... more like a belgian barbu that tail. I reckon that one isn't a pure breed. It's not a boy though, and there's no mille fleur there at all.

The mille fleur colouring can come in most breeds, but yours is defintely blue. And very pretty she is too.
