Lesley
I use Ecover cream cleaner. You can get special cleaner for UPVC - I wouldn't like to say what chemicals it contains, although for a one-off clean it may be OK?
little chickadee
I have found that Astonish cleans anything and is remarkably cheap (lakeland/ john lewis' sell it)
chickencam
Astonish is fab, they also make a spray window cleaner which is really good but i can't find it anywhere and I have nearly run out
Aunty e
I used upvc window cleaner once. Ate through my rubber gloves and took the skin off my hands. Still, it was cheaper than a chemical peel and they were lovely and soft afterwards.

Snowy
Ahem ... do you have a steam cleaner by any chance Jules? Joking aside - it worked wonders on my UPVc window frames

Lesley
Hubby - who should know as he fits them for a living- says the best thing for them is Jif. Isn't that called Cif now?? - and Ecover cream cleaner is the same thing, just slightly more environmentally friendly
Charlottechicken
I have found that Astonish cleans anything and is remarkably cheap (lakeland/ john lewis' sell it) Astonish is brilliant on UPVC I used it to clean the windowsills last year when I noticed they had turned a horrid grey and they came up lovely and white
Trish
non bio washing powder (Ecover etc) works great and doesn't scratch (in my experience)
