Blackrocksrock
Awww thanks everyone you are SO supportive (brings a lump to my throat! ) I really want the job but I dont think I will get it. I think there will be a lot of candidates so I will be lucky if I do. I dont get queasy (I love poo picking after my chooks! ). Im used to dealing with distressed people every day for the airline and used to abusive people aswell . The main criteria of the job was "excellent telephone manner" which I do have, but I suppose if someone else comes along with experience im snookered. the job also states assisting farmers with TB testing (so I have been reading up on DEFRA) and also milk tests. The post involves 1-2 hours a day of lab work. Susan if you could give me any pointers on what you think I should relay across in my interview it would be much appreciated (what would you be looking for if you were interviewing for a colleague?) thanks. Chelsea I am sorry I did not see this one on Monday or to-day till now - glad it went ok but if we were looking for a colleague it would be most important that they fit into the team we have become. The lab work will be easy and they will show you how - the testing will be recording numbers for the vets on forms and arranging testing with the farmers - 1st test is a tt1 and 2nd test to read it is a tt2 test. The milk testing should also be a dawdle and there will always be samples to be sent off to outside labs such as abortion samples from cows and sheep and "Ooops, word censored!" s h i t samples (sorry but thats what it is) to a lab too as well as testing in house. I work at reception and do accounts and take payments and pay into the bank and answer phones and put out injections/drugs for farmers and order the drugs for the surgery etc etc - dogsbody!!! but you need to do all sorts - to-day the cleaner has not been working very well at all and I hoovered my reception area too and help with the washing/tumble drying. feeding animals and cleaning up after them and a bum stop for dogs/cats being injected with anaesthetic if they wiggle. I help with blood samples and help to put animals to sleep - yes its hard but I think if an animal is so bad its nicer to be able to lay them to rest. You sound ideal for such a job and I keep my fingers crossed for you. Best of luck Susan Edited April 22, 2008 by Guest
