Guest
I'm happy today because.... despite of the chucking rain this morning during the walk to school, I kept completely dry thank to my lovely cosy walking boots, which now fit again because my swollen feet are finally back to normal - not a 'cankle' in sight now! - and my jacket has been newly laundered and re-rainproofed, and now does up over my stomach again! And, thanks to the chucking rain, all the little, cheap trees and plants we bought from Woolies months ago are sprouting and blooming all over the place, and the garden is looking very lush and green this afternoon. little chickadee
A lovely lady across the road from me has invited me over for dinner because it's her birthday today. I'm going to give her some eggs which have been laid on her birthday as a present (assuming they don't chose this day to have their first ever production break!) Olly
It's Friday! It's a Bank Holiday weekend, and rain is only forecast for two out of the three days. I have managed to keep some of the weekend free so I can get on with the gardening. Or surf the Forum, depending on weather! I'm delivering the green Eglu to its new home tomorrow, and the lovely new owner is cooking me lunch and is going to give me some tomato seedlings (hurrah - something to put in the so-far empty greenhouse). And on Tuesday I'm going to the dentist, yes I am a bit weird, I know, but I am looking forward to getting a step further towards my new tooth! Ziggy
I really like this thread, every time I read it, I find it so uplifting to read other people's happy thoughts... I'm happy because DD2 has a friend over to play and they are going to bake blueberry muffins using our new exbatts eggs I have done a little bit of seed planting in my new planters DD1's pgl wardrobe is all sorted, and it didn't break the bank, and I can stop running around shops for the stuff now... It's a long weekend, OH is home, and for the first time in weeks, there is nothing I have to do (I know I posted that last weekend, but then it didn't work that way, ended doing way too much) Off to finish last chore before enjoying the afternoon... will eat blueberry muffins later on. crazygal
I am happy because we went to a local gardening club's plant sale this morning and bought a strawberry plant, some rocket, lemon balm, a tomato plant and aloe vera at very reasonable prices!! Saw lots of people we knew as well which was nice. We then had a picnic/feed the ducks/walk/play in an adventure playground at a nature reserve. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in the sunshine. Came home and spent a few hours in the garden with the chickens doing bits and pieces including transplanting my tomato seedlings into pots. All in all a lovely day. Lesley
We've had a lovely day - some of the people who are going to be buying halves of our pigs came to our Piggie Open Day to see the new arrivals! The sun shone - we sat out and watched the pigs - and the children all went in with the pigs and brought apples for them.
Cinnamon
My reason to be happy today, apart from the sun & the fact that I am up to date on the housework, is that I have listed clothes which are now too big from me on eBay & they are all doing very nicely indeed. Also my 'difficult' teenage daughter actually opened up to me about her troubles last night & seems quite transformed this morning after a long chat
Keanie Bean
I'm happy today as all my seedlings are doing really well. All four of the girls are laying and there have been no fights at all (touch wood). We got notification of Daniels disability benefit and its at the rate we hoped for, so no appeals here. I have started making dandelion wine after securing 12 demijohns off of freecycle. I'll be even happier in about a years time. Or should that be merrier Sarah.x

Clash City Rocker
Played 18 holes of Golf this morning, the first time since I injured my leg on 10th March 2008. Brilliant weather at 7.00am today when we set off, shot a 3 over par 75, (though my handicap makes it 71) . Also my new chicken has settled in and has been laying everyday since she arrived on Saturday.
