starboyhull
Hi all, Just wanted to say what a great community this is and what a lot of help you have all been to us. Unfortunately due to the arrogance of my partner we no longer have our beautiful girls and the family of foxes finally got them. I wish everyone the best with their girls and makes sure you dont end up with a story like ours, I have added my eglu to the sale section, if anyone wants it please give me a sensible offer. Thanks again, Karl
Sheilaz
Karl, I'm so sorry to hear this! I noticed you han't posted for a while, but some people like to just read not post, or something else takes over. Is this recent? If so, I can understand your anger, but isn't your partner remorseful if he made a mistake, forgot, or took one risk too many. It's easy to become complacent when all is well, please try & forgive if this is the case. I know I'm just guessing, but you were such a dedicated chickenkeeper. How brave & thoughtful of you to post to warn others. Sadly, there have been many such cases recently. If this is very recent, do consider waiting a while about the Eglu sale. There can be new life after such a loss. Your girls could never be replaced, bless them. But, couldn't you be a happy chookdad again? Forgive me if there is more to "partner's arrogance", but unless it was deliberate, please don't give up too soon. We can act hastily when distressed. Thank you for posting, I'm just so sorry about the reason. Thank you for all your earlier useful and interesting contributions to the forum. Take care xx

Cinnamon
Hi Karl, I was only thinking that we hadn't heard from you for a while just the other day. I am so sorry to hear your news, but please don't be a stranger to the forum. Its still a place to come in & chat, whether you have hens or not. As some of the members who have been here for a while may remember, when I first got my hens & Eglu I had to give them up fairly quickly due to a family crisis. I came on here & posted a 'goodbye & thanks' message, but was encouraged to come back on & chat whenever I wanted. I did just that, made some super friends & when things sorted themselves out we got another Eglu & hens. Your situation will be different of course, but the message is the same - please come & chat whenever you like,Eglu or no Eglu

Willow
Hi Karl, So sorry to hear about your girls, foxes are a worry. (I still let my girls free range some but I am getting nervous). You're obviously very upset at your partner and we don't know what else might be behind it but please hang onto your eglu for a little longer before you make a decision. In a few months you may well feel up to getting more chickens. And if your anger is not for any other reason I'm sure he feels terrible about this. (I noticed your post advertising the eglu and was surprised someone who'd clearly been active on the site was sellig without appearing to be moving to a cube so wondered if there was something behind it.) Hope things work out ok.
The Dogmother
I'm so sorry to hear that Karl (I'd been wondering where you'd gone). I hope that you feel able to pick up on chicken ownership again in the future; we've missed your presence here. Take care Hon, and please feel free to keep posting and joining in on the forum.
