Helly Welly Posted May 1, 2008 Share Posted May 1, 2008 We're off to Legoland on Saturday, as a birthday treat for both Abi and OH. Never been before and we are all really excited. Has anyone else been? Can you give us any tips regarding best rides, queues etc? I'll be in a wheelchair all day so hopefully we may be able to jump some queues, cheeky i know, but wheelchair users go in a different entrance at some rides. One of my friends has a family season ticket, says it is great for kids and goes whenever she can. Have a lovely time and I hope the weathers reasonable. I hadn't thought of taking our own food, could be awkward though as we are travelling most of the way on Friday evening and staying in a B&B overnight. I think you can go to the "guest" line to get that sorted once you have entered the park. Hope you enjoy yoursel as there are a few more rides this year. Ziggy Posted May 1, 2008 Share Posted May 1, 2008 We've been quite a few times and it's still a firm favourite with the kids, we were there just a few weeks ago... we did the Viking ride first, as we couldn't do it on our previous visit as the queue was over 2 hrs... I guess it depends what people like, but really the viking ride isn't worth queuing for... if there is more than a 10 or 15 mins wait, I wouldn't bother going on it again. I'm not sure if they still do an exit pass, but they do a 'queue-bot', that you can pay extra for, and it queues for you, so basically you get allocated a time to go to your chosen ride, and can then go on at that time without having to queue, but it's quite expensive... you can also only book a time for one ride at a time, so have to wait to have been on the ride, to book the next one... As you said, as a wheelchair user, you might be able to jump some of the queues... I don't know if it's fair or not, but if you can do it, why not do it... you'll get more out of your day and will be able to do more rides... Have a great time... My favourite is the dragon ride... (I'm not into big wild ride, the dragon ride is the most adrenaline I can take, anything wilder makes me feel travel sick for days)... When I went to Disney paris,just a couple of months after it had opened,we queued for HOURS for one ride & were really thrilled to be in the first batch to go on next,meaning we would get the front seats. But they let Sacha Distel (*sp) & his family queue jump the whole lot & they got those seats ahead of us I was so mad that he would use his fame in that way. We found this site really useful http://www.uglw.co.uk/ especially the tip about getting there avoiding Windsor town centre. The first day we went from the hotel- at Heathrow- we got a bit lost on the directions & ended up in Windsor, but we followed the directions backwards on the way back to the hotel & they were very accurate. It was a really quick & traffic-free way to get there. The next morning we knew exactly where we were going & thus avoided the nasty traffic queues in the town centre, which WERE mega. you will love it, & it is very wheelchair /trike friendly, if a bit hilly Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

We are due to go sometime soon as we owe our youngest a trip there for his birthday which was at the end of March I'm fairly certain too that you get a 'special' pass from the customer service desk - they certainly have a system for not having to queue when you have a good reason. They need to learn from the experts at Disney (and others) that you can offload and load up at the same time! Basset Posted May 2, 2008 Share Posted May 2, 2008 My DS would be so jealous of you - He is always asking to go back to Legoland, especially as he is a Lego fanatic. We were really lucky to get heavily discounted tickets last year for a special Brownie and Rainbow only day last year. It was the weekend after Legoland closed to the public for the year and so it was virtually empty compared to a normal day. We had a fantastic time. We were then able to head straight for those first, before the queues got too long. Actually, we needn't have worried. Because i was in my wheelchair, we entered all rides through the exit and skipped all the queues The accessibility of Legoland is brilliant, you can tell that facilities for disabled guests wasn't just an afterthought. Miniland was fab, we all agreed that we'd love to have some of it in our back garden. The weather was glorious, in fact it got a bit too hot!
