I wonder if there are any celebrity forum members?

Recommended Posts

I went to see a band in Worcester last night "Abdoujaparov" who used to be called "Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine" and got talking to the lead singer/guitarist

a chap called "Fruitbat" and he was telling me that he is a "Celebrity Uncle to a Regular Omlet Forum Member".

Any idea who ?

You're not talking about Uncle Les are you? :D

How was the gig? I wondered if you went. :D

I was in a sucessful(ish) Ska band that "Ooops, word censored!"ody has ever heard of lol unless you're into scooters - we were the national scooter clubs mascot band .

I used to be into scooters in a big way in my "much" younger days  - what was your band called?

We were called the Skatoons...Edwin Star supported us at the Millenium National Scooter Club bash in Morcambe...have been in a few publications of the Scootering magazine. We did alot of the Run to the Hills meet ups too.

My meagre claims to fame, or brushes with "the famous"....

I once stood on Peter (Dr Who and Tristan in All Creatures Great and Small) Davidsons dog outside WH Smiths in Weybridge (MANY years ago - he was very tall and rather hunky  )

I chased Midge Ure down Chiswick High Street when I was a teen Ultravox fan, (not in a stalker kind of way, more in a "I'm sure that's him" dashes off to try and catch up kind of way  )

I spoke to Steve Strange on a radio chat show / question and answer thingy, Boy George old me once (when he was in his "shaved head, no make-up phase) that my make-up was fantastic - I was a full on goth, very pretentious and told him he looked like hell (:oops::oops: ), well, it was at the Alternative Miss World in Brixton. And I spoke to Lorraine "gor blimey" Chase in the toilets at Madam JoJo's in Soho. As you may have guessed, these things all happened a VERY long time ago

But my best "bask in reflected glory" is that my Dad was awarded an MBE in the NEw Years Honours list a couple of years ago so I went with him to Buckingham Palace and watched as he chatted with Her Majesty the Queen. It was FAB! The Palace was amazing and I was SOOOOO proud of my Dad

On my Mum's side of the family, I am distantly related to Boris Carloff (no jokes about family likenesses please :D ) and on my Dad's side of the family, I am third or fourth cousin to the McGann family of actors. Paul McGann played Dr. Who in a one off thing.

David Soul is my uncle 8) .

Oooooh, you made my heart stop there!:lol: I have seen David Soul several times, both in plays and in his band. It's great to see people in the local theatres because they tend to mingle afterwards and you get to speak with them.

I met several people from Home and Away  in a Guildford pub once. :D

Right, my claim to fame (really stretching it now!) is being vaguely related to Sarah Smart! (She did the kids programme 'Woof!' when she was younger and was Virginia Braithwaite, the lesbian daughter in 'At Home With The Braithwaites'. She also was in 'Casualty 1907'. She is...my MIL's cousins daughter! I'm also related to Peter Davison...he's my BIL but not of TV fame!

My claims to fame:

  • Once saw Chris Tarrant outside midland bank in camden and said hello cos I recognised him and thought he must be a mate of my dad.

Served Paul Young a pint in a pub and had a chat about guinness.

Served Ron Pickering when I worked at a high street bank.

Went to school with David James (ex-England Goalie).

My claim to fame is:

I was asked out (age 16) by Nick Faldo who was friends with my boss I had no idea who he was said NO as I had a boyfriend (now Hubby) ah well!

Vinny Jones used to be a infrequent customer in the pub my parents were landlords of I told him off! for putting the chewing gum out his mouth in the ashtray I had to clean out!

Hubby is an Elec Serv Eng for a well known Dairy and has had rubbed shoulders with loads of celebs when recovering milkfloats which always seem to break down in posh roads like primrose hill
