Mrs Frugal
We were supposed to go to the allotment to check on ours yesterday but didn't get there in the end. We've got 7 rows - earlies, second earlies and maincrops. Hope the weeds aren't as high as an elephant's eye!
Lesley
Ours still aren't in yet! You have a perfectly reasonably excuse, Lesley. Ours are in now!!!!! We did them in the rain at 7.30 this morning They'll catch up. With hindsight, we should have put the 'extra earlies' in at the other house and we would probably be digging them up about now

PurpleHen
I have a potato barrel this year, first timer you see.... Well - the plants are well over the top now and the compost I keep adding seems to sink with every rain so I'm sure I've used more compost than should actually fit in Anyway - when I get to harvest them, will they all be at the bottom Or spread doen the barrel It has a special thingy on the side so the bottom can be accessed easily - does this mean the ones at the bottom will be ready first
Louise
I am a novice too I now have lots of bushy leaves and no more space to add soil so I am keeping them well watered and fingers crossed it won't be a disaster
Ms Cluck
Ours were about 2ft high on friday and almost ready to flower - then we had a really reallly heavy down pour on saturday and it flattened them. today the sunshine has been out and they seem to be picking themselves up - I just hope I have some potatoes at the bottom as I seem to have a lot of growth out of the top Lyn
ali-s
Mine are in plastic containers. What a speed they are growing The little green shoots were covered in a layer of compost and by the next day were showing through the compost again. I have put the last layer of compost in this afternoon. Can't wait to harvest them

The Dogmother
This is great - it's like the Great Potato Race Mine are growing really well - I have been topping them up with soil every day now and they've reached the top of the sacks, so I am leaving them now to flower and die off. How long do I leave it before harvesting them?
